First, I have to say that the taste of the coffee is EXCELLENT! I loved the taste of the coffee I ordered, and I love the cups that the coffee is served in. Iâm going to keep mine and reuse them.
However I went in towards the end of the day, and that meant that unfortunately, most of their bakery items were all sold out. I think itâs kind of a bummer if you canât go someplace until later on in the day, but that means that you canât try any of their food. At least not the food that theyâre well known for.
I will say that I was disappointed with their selection of flavors. This is just my personal opinion but I am not a fan of hazelnut or chocolate or caramel flavored coffee syrup and it takes the fun out of going into a new coffee shop just have to order the same thing at each one because they all only offer the same four flavors. The coffee shops that I really enjoy going to are the ones that offer a wide variety of flavors. Now donât get me wrong - I do understand why many coffee shops only have a small selection of syrups so Iâm not saying that they have to have 40 different flavors (Although that would be awesome!) because I do understand that if a flavor doesnât sell well, they have to throw it out. However, Iâm also a firm believer in having more than just a four flavor selection. Any coffee shop that has either amaretto or toasted marshmallow automatically gets bumped up to the top of my list! I really think that coffee shops should offer those four staples and at LEAST 4 other ones. Then you have your âsafeâ flavors and a small variety to offer true coffee aficionados.
My only other complaint was that they offer two sizes of iced coffees, but the barista explained to me that BOTH sizes have only three shots of coffee - the only difference between the large and the small was the amount of ice and milk. So basically, I had to pay the up charge for the larger size which was only going to give me a more diluted coffee. But I could add an extra shot of espresso for $2.50 per shot - which is WAY overpriced. My usual coffee shops only charge $.99 - $1.25 per shot. And if I order a larger coffee, I actually get more coffee, not just more ice and milk. So that seemed very weird to me.
So in summary, if youâre looking for a great tasting $6 small iced coffee, this coffee shop is a great little place, and in all honesty I would probably go back. The coffee really was good. It just wouldnât be one of my regular stops because I know that the only thing that I would order is a small iced...
Read moreAbsolutely abysmal. Went with my family and we ordered some of the Hong Kong Waffles (Bubble style waffle) and an order of CrÚme brûlée along with a couple fruit smoothies with tapioca. The CrÚme brûlée came out within a couple minutes, but, to our surprise, was not, in-fact, CrÚme brûlée, but a croissant with melted confection sugar over the top. In no universe is this CrÚme brûlée, and the menu does not list it as a CrÚme brûlée Croissant, which would go a long way to clearing up this misconception. (In fact, it seems these might be two separate menu items and we just received the wrong item, since the website clearly has a picture of CrÚme brûlée under the menu section.) Mind you, this was just one person's order. The waffles then proceeded to take an additional 30 minutes, to come out, however, by the time they hit the table, they were so lukewarm that it was impossible to eat them.
The drinks still hadn't been finished, it wasn't until we were trying to get a refund and leave that the drinks finally finished, roughly 40 minutes after we placed our orders.
The staff seems undertrained and inexperienced, which will improve over time, sure, but if they're not ready, they need the support of senior staff. We were informed there was no management on hand and as such, we were refused a refund due to the inability to issue one. We did not eat the food as we'd been served food that was unacceptable.
Only go if you have a huge gap in your schedule to budget a massive wait time and don't mind that menu items are...
Read moreJust realized that this place was here.
Stopped in late morning on a Monday. It wasn't busy, with only a couple other people having a quiet conversation. The place is small, and nicely furnished, with some natural light coming through the front and rear entrances.
The server was friendly and did a great job to answer my questions. (thanks Emily). This is not your typical coffee shop or cafe. There are some very interesting drinks and food items, that you will not find anywhere else. I typically get a hot Tea Latte (London Fog or Chai Latte), but they don't offer those. I was initially disappointed but I quickly got over it.
I ended up getting the Creme Brulee Croissant, and a Ancient Brown Sugar Tea. Let's first talk about the Croissant, truly amazing. Like a Creme Brulee (which I love) it has a layer of caramelized sugar on top. The taste and texture was amazing. The Brown Sugar Tea, was very good, but very sweet. I skipped the boba part (tapioca pearls), but might try it next time.
The place was quiet and cozy. Some other customers came in and were either working or having quiet conversations. Great environment to bring a book and read.
I'll be back, and this time...
