I've been coming to Kilwins for years...the one here in Brookhaven and the one in Atlantic Stations. It's seems they're standards of practice have declined since 2020 or 2021.
I only ever get one thing when I come, and it's the turtle style apple dipped in chocolate.
When I came in today I was told by the workers here (in Brookhaven) that they don't dip in chocolate. I told them whenever I come (which isn't often) I always get it dipped. They then said well if they did it'll take the chocolate warmer 30mins, 45 mins, maybe even an hour to warm up... Now we see the original lie. Anyway,I told them, I'd wait! I left and came back in 45mins, I was told they were still waiting.
I'm not sure when they started the machine...I'm not sure if they waited to start it or really just didn't want to.
When I received it, I noticed there wasn't much chocolate on there then what it was when it was in its original state. The point of asking for it to be dipped is to dip it, not drizzle little dots. I wanted it covered like the rest of the apples are covered with caramel. I don't know what the issue was... I just don't think they felt like doing it. They weren't mean, but clearly just didn't want to.
Either way I'm disappointed and will just continue to visit the one in Atlantic Stations or just forego Kilwins all together and make them at home...
Read moreOh my goodness!!! So many cute and tasty treats here! I am from out of town and have visited this little place a couple times during my visits. The icecream is so delicious and there are many flavors to choose from (I have had the butteryest silky butter pecan with delicious fresh roasted pecans in a warm fresh waffle bowl (so I didnt have to rush with the melt) and the chocolateyest most creamy chocolate fudge too. It was so pleasant enjoying our treats outside in the little park area and people watching. My last purchase was from long distance. We wanted to treat our leasing office for all their hard work and ordered a 30 ct box of the dipped oreos (half reg and half so adorably decorated). The GM litterally took them up to the office herself and they were a tasty hit with the team (packaged lovely btw). Kilwins makes such a warm addition to the community atmosphere here in this cute little area. So much attention to detail and just a lovely team and wonderful treats to choose from. Cr*p, reviewing this is giving me cravings and making me want to come down! lololol...We will totally be stopping back in on my next visit to town. Still regretting not picking me up a Carmel dipped apple (we are fast approaching Halloween and Fall)....I am ready for you guys!!!...
Read moreEvery time we come here the employees are super quiet and unfriendly, and really donât seem to care about anything or about the quality of the product/experience. It makes it very awkward. Iâm sure they arenât getting paid enough but Iâve worked service jobs too and itâs not that hard to be friendly.
This particular visit, we tried to get a root beer float but they were out of all the sodas, which the employee seemed to not even know until they looked in the fridge. I feel like you should have a better understanding of whatâs out of stock and take the little soda can display down if you donât have them. We also got a hot fudge sundae, and the fudge was just straight up cold, and like chunky. Why would you serve that and not make any effort to heat it up more or something? Like I said, these employees just do not care.
Itâs also ridiculous that it costs $6 for one scoop of ice cream but I suppose thatâs a corporate thing. Iâm giving 2 stars just because the ice cream and chocolate is very tasty, but I hate actually coming...
