I recently visited MIRKO Pasta in Brookhaven, and I have to say, if a restaurant plans to stay open, they should actually serve their customers. We arrived a full hour before closing, expecting to enjoy a meal, but the experience was nothing short of frustrating.
First, instead of being seated and ordering from our table like a normal dining experience, we were told to place our orders at the hostess stand. Then, despite making it clear we were dining in, our food was brought out in to-go containers. When I asked for plates, the hostess rolled her eyes, making it clear that any request was an inconvenience to her.
As if that weren’t enough, we were told we had to order drinks separately at the bar. This disjointed service made us feel like an afterthought, as though the staff had already mentally closed for the night—even though the doors were still open.
When we tried to voice our concerns, the staff dismissed us outright, showing no interest in addressing the issues. After leaving, I called the restaurant to file a formal complaint, only to be hung up on after I explained the reason for my call. Subsequent attempts to reach the manager were ignored, as my calls were clearly screened.
It’s baffling that a restaurant would bother staying open if they have no intention of treating their guests like valued customers. Dining out is supposed to be enjoyable and relaxing, but MIRKO Pasta in Brookhaven made it stressful and unwelcoming.
If this is how they operate near closing time, they should consider shutting the doors earlier rather than making paying customers feel like an inconvenience. I won’t be returning, and I suggest others avoid this location unless they overhaul their...
Read moreThe service at this place is atrocious. Hopefully it was just that one day/waitress.
When we were being led in, we requested booth seating. The waitress asked us to wait while she cleaned it. She sprayed the table once with a spray bottle, didn't bother wiping, and then walked away. When we sat down, we noticed that most of the table was still sticky. Five minutes later, our waitress comes over and drops off bread, dip, and water on our table. She doesn't say a thing and walks away. When she comes back to take our order, I asked her if she could give the table another wipe. She sprayed on a towel and gave it a single wipe as we held the plates for her. The table was still sticky.
She then asks if we have any questions about the menu. We say we are ready to order. Then she tells us that pizza isn't available until after dinner. This is already 15 minutes after we sat down, and had seen the waitress pass us by many times. Since we sat down to get pizza, it would have been great to know that earlier on.
Her attitude seemed unprofessional and the hygiene standards of the place seem subpar. Can't comment on the food as we did not...
Read moreOur daughter wanted real Italian food sooo we tired Mirko. Boy it did NOT disappoint. Everything was extremely fresh. You could tell that things are made by hand. We had chicken marsala, salmone al salmoriglio, ravioli with pasta sauce and a salmon salad.
They frist bring out these warm rolls that had perfect steam pockets in them. But you will want to save them for dinner.
The chicken marsala was the perfect portion. The wine sauce was creamy with the mushrooms and the chicken was extremely tender. The spinach was cooked perfect and I could eat those potatoes all day.
The spinach ravioli was 4 large fresh ricotta cheese stuffed into spinach hand made pasta with a perfect portion on meat sauce added on top. When you order pasta you have to also order your sauce.
The salmon salad was a large bowl of mixed greens with a large piece of fresh and perfectly cooked salmon on top.
The salmone al salmoriglio with potatoes and asparagus was a large piece of salmon with a sauce that made you want more with very fresh asparagus cooked perfect thus had a snap and potatoes with a...
