Iāve visited several Flying Biscuit locations throughout the Atlanta area, and most visits have been pleasant. On this particular day, we found ourselves near the Brookhaven location for an appointment and decided to stop in for breakfast. Fortunately, there was only a minimal wait, and we were seated almost immediately.
Our server appeared a bit overwhelmed, and it took a few minutes before she reached our table to take our drink order. My companion ordered a coffee, but when it arrived, it was lukewarm at best. We had to flag the server down to request a hotter cup.
We both ordered a classic breakfastāeggs over medium, grits, chicken sausage (and bacon), and of course, their signature biscuit. The flavor of the food was quite good, and the ingredients seemed fresh. However, the temperature of the meal left something to be desired. The grits were barely warm, which has been a recurring issue Iāve noticed across a few Flying Biscuit locations. I personally love my grits served piping hot, so that was a slight letdown.
Despite this, I still enjoy Flying Biscuit overall. The food quality and taste keep me coming back, but this visit highlighted an opportunity for improvement in both service consistency and meal temperature. Iād return, but I hope they fine-tune the small details that make a breakfast...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhen I first moved to ATL my brunch experiences were pretty limited tbh. I'd been to cracker barrel, IHOP and on a few occasions the original pancake house šš.
No offense to any of these places but it isn't your modern day view of what brunch should be but I didn't really know any better until I made it to @flying.biscuit.cafe when I started college here in Atlanta.
When I made it I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the sausage and gravy was made of chicken and not pork and that's when I knew this was going to be fun.
Let's break down my fav meal biscuit, eggs and gravy with a side of chicken sausage: Chicken sausage gravy: honestly this place is named flying biscuit but the gravy here is what makes the biscuit, rich and meaty with chicken sausage it goes really well on anything and pairs perfectly with a fluffy biscuit Chicken sausage: the chicken sausage here is slightly spicy and generally delicious paired with the eggs and gravy... it's extra but worth it. Dreamy grits: tbh I was never really into grits but flying biscuit changed that for me, these are buttery, rich and slightly grainy
Flying biscuit is a big chain now but generally they're consistent between the locations, it might not be your local brunch spot anymore but it's still definitely...

Lol The cooks are like airborne rangers of line cooks. They care about what they prepare and when the ticket machine stops they are cleaning and getting ready for round 2... the kitchen staff consist of 5 people and from prep to the world war 3 Sunday breakfast Im here to tell you they can keep up with a ticket machine ( well...we try) Consistency is the key and they all work as a team with the servers who work on point with what is being done. It's something when the employees eat there and not cause the discount but because well..... Its awesome food and ill put it this way-we make classic Benedict's as easy as scrambled eggs. . I'm very proud to be part of the whole process. Managers..cooks..expo...dishwashers..servers..busboy.. everyone is important. Oh yeah , The grits-. Not the ones u grew up on. The ones that make u realize why we get there at 5:45am to make them perfect like yesterday; everyday!
