Newk's Eatery — Restaurant in Brookhaven

Went to the Cobb Pkwy location in Kennesaw - Saturday - 6/19 about 2p. Plenty busy - I ordered the chicken salad on a croissant, the nice young lady at the register - said they didn't have any chicken salad but that she would check in the "grab&go" cooler. She brought back a pre-made sandwich and I specifically asked if the sandwich was made on Saturday - which she replied yes.

I ate my lunch with my family - enjoyed the sandwich and we continued our day. About 6p - I was feeling green - left my family and went home. About an hour later - all heck broke loose. I was very, very sick.

Missed celebrating Father's Day with my family on Sunday - as I was completely worn out from hours of purging - if you get my drift.

I called the store today, spoke to the manager, Stephanie. She was sympathetic and apologized for the illness. She assured me the "grab&go" cooler is stocked fresh daily. I did ask her to make sure they checked the dates - she said they do.

So - all this to say - buy fresh - avoid the "grab&go" cooler. The only other thing it could have been was the sweet tea - but I would have thought they sell enough of that for it to not go bad.

Dec 2024 Great experience except…they’ve done away with our favorite salad, the black and bleu. They weren’t selling enough; so no more steak salad with the blue cheese dressing. Aargh!

Aug 2024 I love Newk’s…so convenient. My fave pizza is the pepperoni one with 2x the mushrooms and the black and bleu salad. The young lady who took my order was awesome, so professional. I wish I’d gotten her name so I could mention her specifically. She answered my questions, didn’t rush me and now I know of a fabulous way to look up nutritional values for not just Newk’s meals, but ready-made food at Publix or wherever, too. Thanks so much!

My 2022 review: I love Newk’s pepperoni pizza. The club sandwich is good, too and my husband likes the black & blue salad. I got the garden salad today which was disappointing which is why I’m not giving this 5 stars. It was a little droopy, not fresh the way I’d expect. It looked like those salads made in advance and already oxidized...

We visited this location after having a great experience at the Tucker location. Terrible mistake!

We walked in and there were 2 hosts at the register talking to each other in Spanish. I specify their language for a reason.

Unfortunately, I had to interrupt them and inquire if they could take our order. They both looked as if I’d ask them to do something that exceeded their scope of work. Nonetheless, I placed the order and they continued talking to each other. I was never provided with a total, asked to insert my card or provided with a receipt. Their conversation never wavered and they actually had the audacity to begin talking about us asking each other in Spanish “Why is this customer still standing here?” I replied in English, “I’m still standing here because I need my receipt!” That interaction negatively impacted the entire experience.

We will never return to Brookhaven. Back to...
