Bruegger's Bagels — Restaurant in Brookline

I have been to this location a few times. When I went in the other day the barista was extremely rude to me. I think she was mad maybe because I went in at 1:35 and they closed at 2? But there were several people who ended up coming in behind me. I just ordered a western sandwich and she said what type of bagel so I asked for an everything bagel. She said “we don’t have everything bagels” and just stared at me. I looked to the left and realized they were all out so I walked over to see what they had left and asked for an egg bagel instead. Then she asked if I wanted anything else and I said I remember the last time I was here a couple weeks ago I got an iced chocolate latte or coffee that was pretty good so I asked about it because I couldn’t remember exactly what I ordered. I was really just looking for a little help because maybe she knew the drink I was talking about. She proceeded to be extremely rude and cut me off saying they didn’t offer iced mocha or chocolate anything and rolled her eyes. But handed me a cup of ice? Then I said wait I swear I came here two weeks ago and you guys had some kind of iced chocolate coffee to which she repeatedly just kept saying “the cold brew? The cold brew? So the cold brew?!” Then she snatched my ice cup out of my hand and threw the ice in the sink and the cup on the floor. She gave me iced chocolate coffee for me to prepare with milk but literally scoffed at me when handing it to me. I was afraid to say anything to her about her angry attitude because I didn’t want the situation to escalate and for her to throw something at me. Not sure I want to take the chance to go back to this...

After reading some of this comments from people on this site I'm at awe how this place still open for business. Servers stay behind the counter when not busy talking to each other or on their cell phones. This is why the shop is so dirty all the time. Windows never cleaned, condiment counter is nasty and no toilet paper in the restroom. They Manager is just a young lady. Have not seen her in a week , so she may have quit. My friends and I (teachers) always order our coffee in the morning as we are skeptical to try something else. Went in one morning between 8:00 & 8:30 and asked for a large dark roast. He said he had to make some. (DUH!!!!!) They had the new breakfast sign advertising everywhere, so I decided to give it a try. Sorry mam, we have no eggs or sausage. What? Another day when ordering a coffee they had no cream. What? A truck driver came one day with supplies . He entered the store with papers in hand and handed them to one of the people working there and then I heard the driver scream (what?) He then walked out and closed the back door of his truck and left. So I'm now asking myself , are they having money problems when it comes to paying their suppliers ? Again, they are ALWAYS running out of something. Tables and seats dirty. Floors and washrooms (yuk!) I could go on and on about this poorly run business. Can not wait for my next experience. Wish there were another coffee shop near by....

I think I just need to stop going to this location. When Brueggers does a good job, it’s really tasty, but my experience there last weekend was terrible. I ordered ahead on the app and arrived about a half hour before they closed. I understand wanting to start cleaning and winding down before closing, but the employees were rude to us about how we were in just before closing (30 minutes before closing). They didn’t have our food ready because they didn’t have one of the bagels we ordered, which, again, isn’t a big deal in the last hour before they close. However, we told them a replacement bagel and waited 10 minutes before being asked what we were waiting for. We then reminded them of our order and the bagel preference. We had to remind them again what we were waiting for another 10 minutes later to finally get our food. After we left, we discovered they had absolutely gotten our order wrong and my breakfast sandwich was nothing like what I had ordered. All in all, I’m sorry we came at 1:30, but if you stop caring and become mean in the last hour before you close, you shouldn’t...
