Hello there. we started off a little rocky on this visit. The facility was nice and clean. Our waitress was friendly but not knowledgeable. I'm not sure if she was new or not, but years ago when I started at Home Depot as an associate right out of college, I had a little button that went on my apron the head the picture of Homer, the Home Depot icon, and a message saying I'm new in bright orange letters on this button that was probably to maybe two and a half inches across. The point of this was to let folks know but I was definitely not the smartest person in the building, haha! I think more businesses should take up this practice, as you have all read my reviews, I am not the most patient person in the world. But if I can identify that someone is new or maybe this isn't their area of expertise, then my attitude can adjust accordingly. We had a mix up, well let me say first. That with all of the covid menus that are out there certain things are still available but they're not presented sometimes on the current menus. But if you ask and have a knowledgeable person at the business who is assisting you than you can usually get what you want. I ordered something that I have gotten frequently, and it came out as something else but to turn the experience around the person on the wait staff quickly snapped it up realized the mistake that she had made and quickly and turned it around and brought out exactly what we ordered in the first place. So what started out as a little rocky ended up being just fine. Two or three members of the staff stopped by the table to make sure that we had drink refills and napkins and you know any kind of condiments that we were looking for. Read moreService was great both for take out the other day and dine in tonight. I only do 3 stars to hopefully call the attention of the manager. We called in the evening of 7/15/21 to be sure they are actually 24hrs (many say 24hra but the pandemic, even to this day, has caused a lot of truck stop Denny's to be closing at 2000 or 2200). They answered the phone with "what?" aggressively and non-informative (not to mention unprofessional) so they extended the conversation (I am assuming they were busy/under staffed, which lead to them trying to cut down on phone time....by counter productive means) because we needed to,confirm this was the Denny's and not some teens cell phone. Then when we asked what time they close they simple said "24 hours" and hung up. I sympathize with the service industry. Truly. I became a trucker to get out of that unforgiving industry. But we can't forgo basic professionalism in the eye of stress. I have a phone phobia that leads to severe anxiety and even fainting, but I still follow the proper script and manners when I have to be on a phone.
I do want to share that whoever the hostess was on 7/14 in the evening, she was extremely personable and friendly. We were only there to pickup take out and we felt the warm welcome in her friendly manner and kind chatter. So whoever answered the phone on 7/15 does not represent this place's service at all. I called the waitress that was 3ft in front of me as she was passing out an order. " Can you come back after you are done with the customer, I have a question " ; " yes, she replied. Moments went by and she didn't return. I looked off into the distance and there she was bringing dirty dishes to the kitchen. She went around and walked behind me to avoid me seeing her. I waved to her to get her attention and she stopped another employee from eating while she was on break to attend to me. I told her, " NO, She is on break; let her eat!!! I only have a question about the food. " " She said, " I'm sorry. I forgot you needed me. " She assumed I was interested in her; I don't want that. I ONLY HAD A QUESTION ABOUT THE FOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T WANT AN APOLOGY.
