Went to take the wife out for a nice peaceful date night on Halloween 2022. Waited in line for an hour, after we finally seated, a young lady came and took our drink order, this is just beginning. After awhile we received our drinks a small andlarge frozen mango margarita. I proceeded to drink my drink and try and enjoy the evening with the wife. We noticed the older couple that was seated just after we were had already had there drinks and had already ordered there food. My wife and I still sitting there after another hour had passed with our order had yet to be taken. By this time I had finished my drink and my wife was starting to get stomach pains for not having anything to eat before her drink, I told her to finish her drink and we would leave. She said she couldn't and we got up and went to pay for our 2 drinks. After standing in line another 10 minutes someone finally came and wepaid $19 for 2 drinks and NO FOOD. My wife and I usually eat here but this has changed my mind about eating here ever again. Bryson City only has a few restaurants worth eating at and now it's 1 restaurant down the drain for me and my wife. I will tell everyone I can about there service we never received! Good luck eating here for I want be...
Read moreWe came across a restaurant boasting "Authentic Mexican" cuisine, which piqued our interest. Having spent our formative years in New Mexico, a short stint in El Paso, and even having a house built in Corpus Christi, TX, before moving to North Carolina due to military orders, we felt qualified to investigate. Unfortunately, our first impression could be summed up in one word: MEH. The fajitas were disappointingly dry, as if they had been sitting under a heat lamp for far too long, and they certainly did not appear fresh. The presentation was lacking, and as the saying goes, you do eat with your eyes first. This initial letdown foreshadowed the overall taste experience, which fell flat.
The meal was overpriced considering both the portion size and quality. Calling it "not bad" certainly doesn't equate to it being good. It was edible, but the prices seemed inflated, likely an attempt to compensate for a lack of patrons and cover overhead costs. There are plenty of other places that offer better prices and higher-quality Mexican food, so take the reviews seriously and look for...
Read moreNot much to look at, inside or out. For some reason "office-style" overhead fluorescent lighting is used and quite bright so avoid if you like to utilize the term cozy. There is a "bar" that makes some drinks (Margaritas are served) but no Gin...?? The food is very bland and seems to suit those that think adding ketchup to food makes it "spicy" and the salsa served with the chips will certainly satisfy ketchup-lovers as it appears to be part of the base ingredient. I've never run across refried beans that are gray in color and quite frankly everything else was smothered in cheese and red enchilada sauce so identifying a few items was nearly impossible. If you're hungry the place will do the trick but don't have any expectation of authentic Mexican given the hype or comments regarding "best they've ever had" or "gourmet", which completely destroys any credibility of those reviewing this place. It's a matter of few restaurant choices in the area and this place being among the better options for...
