Doesnât deserve any stars. The food is precooked and kept inside stainless steel containers/pans before put on the grill for a few seconds to supposedly get warmed upâŚâŚ Ribs looked cold and dry, the corn is boiled and served wet straight from the pan, doesnât even touch the grill, the potatoes are not wrapped in anything so that in the winter they can maintain some heat, so the butter or any other toppings cannot even melt when applied. My food sat on the counter for 30 seconds while I wiped and cleaned my own table and moved around to situate my kids. Upon returning to pick up the food as I noticed it was cold I asked the staff if they could warm the corn and ribs on the grill for a min. I was reprimanded for leaving the food on the counter and told it was my fault.. I could clearly see that the so called âchefâ got irritated, immediately giving us an attitude. He picked up the corn and placed it on the grill but claimed that he has to throw away the ribs due to the CA health code and we have to wait for new ones, although the tray with food never left their countertop. The âchefâ finally picked up 2 new ribs, literally threw them on the grill, which now had the corn getting burned, continuing to verbalize how he is not supposed to do this and that he is doing us a favor and after warming them up for few seconds, threw them on my plate in a very humiliating manner and in a derogatory tone told me: â enjoy your hot meal now! I could not believe the lack of professionalism, customer service and hospitality from this guy. I was a paying customer for a party of 4 that just spent over $100, for some food that I was expecting to be warm. I understand that this is a restaurant inside an amusement park and not a Michelin Star oneâŚbut still⌠We asked for a manager, that showed up from the back and was speechless, useless and could not handle the situation, while she was witnessing her employee still being rude to us. I have lost my temper and threw the entire tray away inside of their stall. The âchefâ immediately started mocking me saying âbyeâ security is coming: âbyeâ motioning with his hand that I was going to be escorted out of the park. Seconds later, the Food and Beverage director Wilf Seymour showed up and in a very professional manner listened to our complaint and offered to assist with the issue in order to de escalate. We were offered a table inside a nearby restaurant, while the issue was being investigated by the Park staff. Minutes later, I was greeted at the front of the restaurant by Security and the same Food and Beverage Director. The 2 security officers were professional and explained that they were there to get my side of the story so they can document the incident in a report. My information was collected and I was advised that I was being issued a warning for my reaction at the grill and could continue my visit in the park but asked not to further engage with the staff at the restaurant. I would greatly encourage the âchefâ at the grill to take some customer service classes and learn how to better do his job, dropping the attitude towards paying customers and also his manager to learn how to âmanageâ people and also the establishment. All together a very sad experience, that affected my family and the time spent...
Read moreCame here for lunch and wanted to try the BBQ chicken and rib plate. We were surprised by the new menu changes. No more mixed meat plates, though you can add a rib or 1/4 chicken for $5 more. We asked and only 2 ribs come on the rib plate so we calculated and it was cheaper to do a chicken plate and add a rib. We ended up with 3 half chicken plates and added 2 ribs to 2 of the chicken plates, fed two teens and 2 adults with some left over so plenty of food. The white meat of the chicken was spot on, full of flavor, moist and juicy while the dark meat was very dry. The rib I got had more meat than the one my husband got, though his was juicy and mine was tough and dry. It did taste better with BBQ sauce. The toast was very buttery and delicious. The corn was perfect. The potatoes were over cooked, it created a hard outer layer. The wait was about 20 mins, line was to the horse stable when we got in line. The service was business, "next in line, you have a season pass, what can I get you?" Food came out fairly quickly. Though we did have a worker who was sweeping the area come take our tray when we were done, that was very nice. They kept the seating area pretty clean. The hand washing station was very nice though hand...
Read moreOur usual go-to spot at Knott's is the Boardwalk BBQ which has delicious tri-tip and sides, but we decided to change it up a little so we went to Fireman's Brigade Barbecue. We feel that we get more 'bang for our buck' from our meal plan at both places. The rib meal at the Fireman's Brigade was about $22 which most people might think is a bit spendy, but with the meal plan, it doesn't seem too bad.
My hubby and I split the 2 rib meal and had the baked potato as our side. Since we have the meal plan, our meal did not come with the garlic bread (*I'm not sure why - ??), but that was ok. The baked potato was a perfect side dish to have with our ribs.
We really enjoyed the meal - the ribs were tasty, I just felt like it could use a little more sauce - and the baked potato was baked perfectly! And they had butter and sour cream available.
The Fireman's Brigade also has corn on the cob, which looked really good.
And of course, we got the boysenberry punch to have...
