Normally love HARBORCENTER but the Buffalo Sabres Prospect Challenge was an absolute horrible experience! They over sold the event so people had to stand all around the rink and where we ended up standing was under the flags looking through foggy glass and could barely see the game! For all of the people they had in attendance they only had the one concession stand open (the main one) so we waited in a line that wrapped along the glass and back over to the stairs! Looked like a line to get on a roller coaster! We waited in line the whole second period and when the line moved and we got near the glass behind the net we were standing against the glass taking photos while in line and the nasty security guard came over to the line saying we couldn’t be standing at the glass and you can’t take pictures. I replied with “we are literally in line for food and we paid for the event we are 100% allowed to take photos!” She said if you’re in line for food you can’t stand against the glass you have to stand here (and pointed two feet away from the glass) and then said “and if I catch you taking pictures you’re going to be out of here” was a key bank center security guard in a grey suit who must get a power trip from having the slightest bit...
Read moreI went to the Harbor Center to watch the Buffalo Beauts. Awesome game Terrific NWHL Hockey team. Parking at the Harbor Center was annoying, it took twenty minutes driving around to find a parking spot when we finally did it meant driving pass barriers they had up yo prevent parking there. They took our money then have half of the ramp blocked off, wrong. When our friends arrived after us after waiting in line for fifteen minutes to get a parking ticket to the ramp, they were told it was filled, I went up to the attendant and told him no the top two levels are completely empty with a barrier to prevent parking, another customer moved the barriers and that is where we parked. Once inside the Harbor Center there were no signs designating where the Professional Women's Hockey team plays. They sell tickets inside for the game for $15.00, you have to go into the seating area to get over to the ticket sales, now a dishonest person is just going to find a seat and not purchase any tickets. Very poor set up from start to seating. The game was fun which is...
Read moreBeautiful facility. Attended a hockey tournament here. Parking is below rink and hotel. Lots of directive signage in garage and throughout the building making it easy to find where you are going. Good job with accessibility, however, I did a little recon before my family with mobility issues arrived to assure the easiest route. While the signage is good, there are a lot of elevators that don't go to every floor, so it takes a little exploring to figure out the easiest options. Main rink is a good temperature with bleachers on both sides and bar style seating at the top. There is a spot for wheel chair seating on at least one side. Nice bathrooms and snack bar was good. Smaller rink had decent bleachers and was cooler than the larger rink, as expected for an auxiliary rink.
Tim Hortons was good and Southern Tier Brewing was nice. Easy to get to from elevators. Pizza Plant in the building next door had great...
