As a self employed organizer who helps people reduce the clutter in their lives for a living I like to gift consumables and have been buying Watsons chocolates and shipping all over the country for years. Today I stopped in to treat myself to my fav dark chocolate sponge candy and the guy behind the desk (James) remembered me from my last visit where I shipped chocolates to Seattle. I really hope the business is in his hands one day as his business acumen has confirmed why I like to shop family ran businesses versus big chain âcheaperâ stores.    Read moreI visit Buffalo a couple times a year and always buy some sponge candy when I'm there. I seem to visit a different store location every time but the past few times I've visited, I've been disappointed with the quality.
I have found that 15-20% of the box I'm buying has pieces where the honeycomb center is very chewy or has shriveled up. For the price, every piece should high quality. There are no expiration dates on the boxes and perhaps the orange type I get does not turnover as fast as other product, but I no longer what to spend the money on these when this problem is persisting.

   Read moreWe happened upon Watsonâs during a visit to Buffalo and were impressed by the selection, appearance of the store, the absolutely fantastic service, and after consuming some of our purchases, the quality. Watsonâs May be renowned for their sponge candy (sponge toffee here in Canada), and yes, it is extremely good, but for me, the winner that day was their milk chocolate coconut medallionsâŚwow, just wow! I have never found a version anywhere else that even comes close. Needless to say that I am rationing them and will be stocking up the next time my travels take...
