I recently had the pleasure of dining at True Texas BBQ, and I have to say, it lived up to the name. The food was excellent, with the standout dish being the brisket mac and cheese. The brisket was incredibly tender and smoky, and it paired perfectly with the creamy, rich mac and cheese. It's a combination I didn't know I needed until I tried it, and now I can't stop thinking about it. Another highlight was their sweet tea, which they brew in-house. It's perfectly balanced not too sweet, and with a wonderfully refreshing flavor that complemented the BBQ perfectly.

But what truly made our experience was the service. Chuck, who served us, was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to enjoy his work. He offered great recommendations and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. His positive energy and helpfulness definitely elevated our visit.

Overall, if you're looking for authentic, delicious Texas BBQ with great service, you can't go wrong with this place. I'll definitely be back for more of that brisket...

I was a bit unimpressed by HEB new BBQ joint in Bulverde. I ordered a 2 Meat Plate with Lean Brisket and Sausage, Potato Salad and Slaw. My wife had the Chopped Brisket Sandwich Meal. I ordered the Banana Pudding since it was free with the coupon (WHICH THEY FORGOT TO GIVE ME!!!! minus 1 star right there). Our Order was TO-GO The brisket had a well seasoned bark that tasted pretty good. The meat was tough still, it did not pull apart easily at all and you had to use a knife to cut it. It was chewy. It probably could have used another hour or two in the oven. It is obvious they don't smoke their meats on site. Sausage was good, warm and sliced. Side were good too. I found the portion sizes appropriate for the price compared to other BBQ places. My wife enjoyed here chopped Brisket sandwich but we had to go back for our chip whick they forgot as well but we caught that before we left. They are new and I will give them another try in the future because they are convienent, but there is much better "Texas BBQ" (cooked on site) up the street and up and...

Like the reasonably priced and high quality lean brisket sandwiches we had. The ice tea options were very good too. The chairs have soft pads on the bottom so they slide quietly and easily on the concrete floors. For metal chairs they are quite comfy. This place has all hard surfaces so it can be tending towards the loud side. It would be good if they got some type of sound system to announce a persons name to pick up their order vs yelling out the persons name each time an order comes up. If there is some strategic way to add sound panels to the walls, it will make this one giant room feel more homey, sound and look less like a barn. This is just my preference; others may not care. Very clean, very friendly staff and manager. Great job! Beef brisket very tasty. Presentation very good. Liked the onions pickles and biodegradable serving plates and utensils.
