Old Texas Brewing Company (Burleson) — Restaurant in Burleson

I emailed the restaurant about this and didn’t receive a response after waiting 4 days. We scheduled my daughter’s graduation party for 7pm after being asking to move it back an hour when we booked. A week before the party we were asked to consider moving to the patio; we paid for a private party upstairs. I declined. That was fine. Jamie stated she would cancel the band that was to be playing that night due to the graduation parties. I specifically asked that we be able to set up at 6:30pm because I knew we would need that time to do so. I wanted it to be completed before guests arrived. That time to set up was confirmed. I was also told that two 6ft tables would be set up with black table clothes for us as well. (That was not done until Jamie asked if I needed them). The day of the party I received a confirmation for our reservation at 7pm via text.

We arrived at the restaurant at 6:20pm, my husband goes inside and a lady that works there told him our reservation was at 7:30pm…not true. He told her no, and showed my text. There is a conversation that occurs and we were told that we could bring our things to the catwalk and the party before ours would be taking their decorations down at 6:30, we should have the space at 6:45pm. That did not occur. We did not get the space until 6:55pm, 5 minutes before guests were to arrive and the other party was not cleaning up their décor or leaving until we started setting up our decorations. They lingered for at least 15 more minutes. Myself and my husband spoke to Jamie about the issue and she told us “graduation season is busy” to bear with her. There was zero concern with the issue. She made no efforts to correct the situation nor she come back by later to check in. I feel like she handled the situation very poorly. We did not get to decorate, set up or have the party the way we planned. Guests were all showing up and we had to make due. It felt like our party was an afterthought and not important.

I was very angry and did not speak to her very nicely at first. My husband took over communication. This was my daughters high school graduation party. She gets one of those. She has worked very hard to gain her associates degree and her high school diploma at the same time and we wanted to make sure she was showcased. The lack of care on Jamie’s part was really disheartening.

We spoke to the family that rented the space before us, they paid an extra $100 to rent the space until 7:30pm. That was never told to us as we have a confirmation that our reservation was at 7pm. They also stated that they were told that we were ok with waiting until they were done and would set up anytime. That is not even a logical thought in how someone throwing a party would conduct themselves. The DJ was not even aware there was a party after the one before ours.

There were some serious scheduling issues with this evening and I ask that you please look at handling things different for the next guests. We visit this location as well as the Fort Worth location often so it was a bit shocking to be have been treated the way we were. Really great spot for a sit-down meal, but I don't recommend pickup. Every time we do pickup we get worse food than we would get at a fast food place, tiny portions, same prices. We've never had a pickup meal that wasn't like the pictures below. If you plan to eat there, it's a great area restaurant with wonderful service and a very cool bar, but if you plan to pickup the meal, I suggest fast food, you'll get a lot more, better quality, and not pay the premium prices. It's tough because I try to never write negative reviews, you can see it in my profile, I mostly only review places I love, and when dining in the food is nothing like this at all, but this was the pickup experience so many times I didn't want to see more people waste the money. Pictured: 13 dollar philly cheesesteak (about 3 slices of steak) with 10 dollar extra for the single cut in half piece of brisket 11 dollar rice bowl 5 dollar specialty salad 3.5 dollar fully loaded baked potato, had some sprinkled cheddar and a couple of bacon bits, nothing else included, potato comes totally uncooked and raw, too hard to eat even after baking it myself

Update: I do appreciate the owner's response. I had contacted the restaurant before posting, even passing on all of these photos to see if there was a problem with pickup service I should be aware of as this had been the result of pickup orders frequently. That message included my experience, all of my information, order time, date, receipt info, and these photos. I was left a message a few weeks later and returned the call several times with my name, number, times to call, email, and even receipt information, but was not contacted beyond the initial message. I will give due credit for the initial voicemail that had come a few weeks after I sent along my information and the photos, it just wasn't followed up on after returning the call. Horrible service. Wait staff would have rather talked to each other than pay attention to their customers. Serving the wrong food when my husband repeated to them several times that it wasn't the right food. It was loud in their but when he is pushing the food away both times and telling you. You should get the drift. They ended up giving him someone else's food then found his. Didn't bring our daughters food out with everyone else's. Waited a bit then he got up to ask and they failed to tell us they dropped it on the floor in the back. And gave him attitude about when we were politely asking. Swiss burger was dry and no flavor. Was made like paying for a McDonald's burger. Toppings stacked in the middle and barley any mushrooms. Sweet potato fries were good. Attitude with several servers because when our waitress wasn't available they didn't like us bothering them. One gave my mom dirty looks behind her back and didnt see I was watching her and the conversation because she had to find someone to get our drinks refilled and flat out told her she can't help her she has other tables to do. They are working on it. Definitely won't be going back. I did hear that they have hired several new staff. I would definitely reevaluate the wait staff. Keep in mind we were not rude at all and have never had service and attitudes anywhere like we did here. I appreciate them helping my nephews senior class to raise money for senior celebration. But I think most of the staff tonight were having a bad day. And hope it gets...
