What an amazing lobster/crab restaurant this is! While it can get pretty busy at peak times as people gaze in line that stretches well into the sidewalk over at that huge chalkboard detailing the menu, or picking a smaller one up next to the lobster tanks, while talking about how pricey things are and how long the line is, and admire that live security footage of their lobster and crab farm, but its worth the wait! In the meantime, go abandon your friends for a few seconds to buy a 3 lb lobster at $13.75 a pound, nice, ain't it? 😅
If you get past that obstacle, you're rewarded with the coolest dudes as your cashier, really friendly and helpful in what to recommend, or if you already know what you want, quickly takes the order for 4 in 5 seconds and BAM! Just like that, you just spent $100+ on a group of 4 who ordered a crab sandwich, a sampler platter, a lobster roll, crab nachos and lobster tacos!
Once you pay, you are assigned a post with a number on it, you then take it to an open table, considering if you can even find one, especially on a nice day like today! Luckily, i did as i pounced on table with a couple who was about to leave! As you wait, you can get some water you can fill up with provided (what looks like) mason jars and grab your forks, spoons and knives, because oh boy the food!
Around 10 mins later, a waiter who's on a big Wheres Waldo mission to find our post with a number on it delivered our order to us. I ordered a crab sandwich and let me tell you of just how well executed every part of this sandwich is! First, they cut it up into two because you probably want to save the other half of this masterpiece with take out boxes next to the water later on. Next are the two veggies on this sandwich, a tomato, and a piece of lettuce, which tastes like they just picked and sliced it the moment they got my order, all on top of a perfectly melted slice of cheese over that perfect crab! Thats not all that came with my sandwich, it also comes with these pretty good potato chips, though they are a little firm and have air pockets in them, but i don't mind as it compliments my sandwich well. The coleslaw also came with it, but i can just say its okay because i don't really like coleslaw that much.
I couldn't have a say about the other dishes because my friends and family ate it all before i could try them! xD
In all, this experience was really good and its so strange to see it near the airport, because the jet noises are pretty noticeable from their location. I would have expected this place to be near the actual ocean, maybe in santa cruz or sunset district, even Monterrey! Wherever they are, their quality is just top notch, and this location in the middle of an industrial area can become a basis for more, or not! I'll be sure to come back once i can...
Read moreToday's visit was our first time. Upon arriving, we saw a sign for curbside pickup which is great. There was hand sanitizer available and the entrance as well as the exit. There was another sign for dine in or take out, but it wasn't clear if we were suppose to wait to be seated or self seating. We only find this out after the crowd began to roll in and an employee asked a couple to head back to the podium, which we had seen. When we arrived no one was there, so we walked in and took a look around and assumed it was self seating because menus we're available through a QR code on the napkin dispensers. So we grabbed a table wherever.
After sitting down, we looked up the QR code and looked at the menu options. It all looked great as other patrons orders being served! We ended up ordering the Okizu combo, the Wagyu hotdog combo, half a dozen Kumamoto Oysters on the Half Shell, the Lobster Ale and the blueberry lemonade. First came out waters, with notice that our other drinks are being fulfilled. After receiving our drinks, our combos came out. About 10-15 minutes later the oysters arrived.
However, before the oysters came out, I found a hair in my lobster roll. It took five minutes for me to get someone's attention to provide us with utensils as well as to replace my lobster roll. When I finally was able to get in contact with a staff member, I asked her if I was able to get my lobster roll replaced, but she grabbed the whole tray and relaxed the whole thing. It was replaced with a smaller lobster roll but it was ok. The combo itself was very fulfilling! My boyfriend doesn't really like seafood that tastes fishy because it's usually when seafood is not freah. But he wished he tried the lobster roll because the oysters didn't taste fishy!
All in all, the staff was friendly, nice and wore gloves. The service was excellent! The food was deeeelish! The atmosphere was great with an...
Read moreI've had the pleasure of visiting the New England Lobster Market & Eatery in Burlingame, California, on three separate occasions, including during the COVID-19 pandemic and, most recently, just a few weeks ago. Each visit has offered a unique perspective on this charming establishment. Personally, I found the outdoor seating to be the most enjoyable dining experience here. The al fresco setting provides a refreshing connection to the pleasant Californian weather and enhances the maritime ambiance, making it feel like a coastal getaway. The availability of outdoor seating allowed me to relish my meals amidst the natural surroundings, which elevated my overall dining experience.
One notable shift I observed over my visits was the transition to contactless service through QR code scanning. This approach added a modern touch to the dining process, streamlining ordering and payment while minimizing unnecessary interactions. The inclusion of wines and other alcoholic beverages further complements the menu, offering a delightful selection to accompany the delectable seafood offerings. The ambiance at New England Lobster Market & Eatery strikes a harmonious balance between a relaxed coastal setting and refined dining. As for the food, I commend their lobster tacos, which were an absolute treat. Each bite's delicate balance of flavors and textures showcased an expertise and dedication to crafting a memorable culinary experience.
Additionally, the availability of parking in the back lot, particularly on weekends, ensures convenient accessibility for patrons. Despite visiting during varying circumstances, New England Lobster Market & Eatery is consistently impressed with its inviting ambiance, efficient service, and exceptional seafood offerings, making it a standout choice for anyone seeking a delightful...
