We came here to kill some time on a rainy day with our two kids while visiting the area. My one star review is more for the organization as a whole rather than this particular location.
Pros: I will give this place one star for the staff, everyone was kind. The place seemed clean, there was a guy actively cleaning while we were there. The bathrooms weren’t terrible.
Cons: This Chuck E. Cheese is located on the outskirts of an otherwise abandoned mall. Which isn’t a huge problem but is strange none-the-less. It was $52ish for a medium cheese pizza, two regular size fountain drinks, a 10 piece chicken wing, and a side of fries. I wouldn’t consider the price of the food that bad if it wasn’t for the size of the portions and the quality of the food. The fries were cold and soggy, the chicken wings were good, but extremely small (see photo), the pizza was mediocre…as to be expected for the usual quality of pizza at a Chuck E. Cheese. Technically you don’t go there for the food, which I get… just trying to paint a picture of the whole experience.
The new (Or at least I think it’s new) up-charge for their play area is just not worth it. As I understand it… each location has an additional play area (jungle gym or other play-on structure) that is now pay to access. This particular location had a small Trampoline area. It cost $12 per kid for unlimited access to their jump area. Important to note that they keep it locked using a padlock and zip ties. If your kids are anything like mine, they will probably want to go back-and-forth between the games and the play area. Unfortunately, anytime our kids exited the play area the employee immediately replaced the padlock and returned to the front desk. So, 2 minutes later when the kids wanted to return to the jumping area we would have to go back to the front and request for them to unlock the area a wait for an employee to become available. This made it very difficult to utilize the “unlimited access” to the trampolines that we paid for.
Inflation is up everywhere, and as you would expect this includes their version of pay for games. Instead of tokens, they use a relatable card called a pay pass, similar to Dave & Buster’s. However, the pay scale is based on minutes/points. I believe is meant to disorient you to the actual cost of each game. I saw a range of games from 1 point to 5 points.
Overall: If you’re interested in spending $100-$150 for small portions/mediocre food, and maybe an hour worth of play… While simultaneously being severely overstimulated this is the activity for you.
I think this is the end of an era for Chuck. It’s just another cash grab that has increased in cost and decreased...
Read moreHad my daughter 4th bday here, never again. The staff was so rude, the service was awful, they didn't have the cake we ordered online, they argued with us about drinks we paid for, constant miscommunication about food orders but no apologies. They called the kids to the table and brought out 1 small pizza out of 7 we ordered. The kids sat and waited for 15 mins. I finally went back to the kitchen to ask what was going on, and our "helper" was back there picking his nose. When cake time came, it was not decorated, was missing candles, and we were short 1 cake. (We ordered 2 online and were told they didn't have it when he brought out the one) He told me I could cut it but left me no plates, napkins, or forks. I had to try and hunt him down yet again while guests ate with their hands. We finally asked for the dots 10 mins before our time was up, and I was told, "When we get a chance, we will bring them." Though at the 3:30 mark, he started to collect stuff and pile garbage on our pizza that hadn't been eaten. I had to ask him to step away and bring us boxes. I asked multiple times for someone else who was capable of helping with a kids' party or maybe a party our size? We had her 3rd birthday here, and it was fantastic! I just wanted my daughter to have a nice birthday, and with the amount of $$ this cost and the aggravation, you can have it other places. I can't forget asking for a tip! Nice touch. For reference, Mt vernon location: 13 kids 14...
Read more$12 to jump on a trampoline?! No thanks! It was hard to walk into a Chuck E. Cheese and see what it has degraded into compared to my youth. Theres no play area here, the prizes are cheap and lame, the games barely give any tickets, andvonly a handful actually give "tickets". Staff was slow and didn't seem to care. I walked up to complain about two games being broken and taking my credits without letting me play. The gal behind the counter turned to talk to me and then immediately turned back to her coworker to try and chat with her. The food was definitely not worth the money. The pizza was dry and lifeless, the "wings" looked like the came from a frozen bag bought at Walmart, the churros were covered in flavored sugar that made them so sickly sweet you couldn't eat them (they're a dessert, they don't need that much extra sugar!), BUT the sales bar was pretty good.
In disappointed to see there's no more animatronics besides one Chuck E that never came on and the only time Chuck E came out to say hi to the kids was only for a kids birthday party.
I'll honestly never take my...
