EDIT to respond to the upset barista. Apparently anyone that doesn't like your attitude and poor service is a Karen. We were incredibly kind about it and even tipped you before you started being rude. AND you only refunded it after we asked about it. We even said to stop making it when we found out you were going to make us pay again after not even drinking the drink, but you kept berating us, refused to listen to us, continued to make the drink, and acted like we were terrible people for not liking something you put out.
I also can't believe you think it's unreasonable to ask for an Americano with flavor. It's not even ordering off the menu to order a drink with flavor. It's literally on the menu. Also, how can you put out a drink that curdles and think that's appropriate? That wasn't even the issue. The issue was there was a ton of powder sitting at the bottom of the cup. Your response is laughable and pathetic.
Initial review: Honestly, incredibly rude. Whatever guy was working (glasses, mustache) did not mix the drink well at all and then made it out to be our problem. We politely asked him to make a new one and he belittled us, also treated the two girls ahead of us WAY DIFFERENTLY even saying to them, "let me know if you don't like it." I would never come back with how terrible the service was, as well as how sad the coffee was. The quintessential pretentious coffee shop that you want to avoid. Also $8 for a latte...
Read moreA friend and I from across the lake were looking for a coffee or tea shop on Church St. before heading home. We stopped into the first one we saw, which was this place. We walked in and noticed it smelled delicious. As we were looking at the menu on the wall, the man working paid no attention to is as customers. Not even a hello. Instead he continued to clean and walk out the back door to throw a box away. He came back in and we asked what their options for decaf were, as one of us is a coffee lover but sensitive to too much of the stuff. He pointed to a coffee carafe along the wall that said decaf and said that was it. Not bothering to mention any of the lower caffeine teas and Italian sodas listed on another menu board on the opposite wall. We ordered a single special drink and the employee looked absolutely miserable doing his job. He handed her the coffee and quietly said the amount. He rang us out and we wished him a good day. We're not even sure he replied as he spoke with a very quiet tone to the point it was barely understandable. Needless to say, we went a few doors down to another coffee stand in the corner and ordered a decaf maple latte, thanking the female working for greeting us and looking forward to serving customers. I'll never step foot in this location again. It was a terrible first experience on Church St., where everyone always seems so...

My first visit there I got a pound of their whole bean dark roast and a doppio espresso. It was not only proper powerful but I was so amped I felt like I could fight crime. Excellent!
The second time I brought friends because I liked it so much. They have local art you can purchase that rotates monthly. I purchased another pound of coffee, this time a pound of their whole bean medium roast, and a piece of art from the wall.
I got back to my hotel and realized that I had misplaced my phone. The last place I remember having it was at The Cosmic Grind. I run there in a panic and the gentleman behind the counter starts applauding. He was so happy I had come back for it. My brother had called ahead and they held it for me until I got there. A real homie.
Great coffee, great vibes and great people. It’s easy to miss but I recommend it to anyone who likes to support local coffee shops. They helped make my trip here a better...
