Had high hopes for a birthday dinner out and typically would not write a review. We started off strong with service and apps. However mid-appetizer my husband felt a drip.. on his forehead...a drip. I thought he was joking until he felt another one, then we saw one on the table, then I felt them in my hair, then the server felt it on her arm when we flagged her over. We looked behind me on my coat and the floor, the ceiling was dripping all around us! Not anyone's fault or control, and there luckily was an available table next to us that we were awkwardly moved to mid-meal, however, our resy was at 8 so the tables had begun to thin by now. Earlier there was no chance we would have had a spot close by to go to, what then? Furthermore, the GM came by not seemingly very concerned and ensured we were now "not being dripped on" and did apologize (our servers were much more empathetic). Fair enough, we were not actively being dripped on now, however at this point our meal came out. My husband ordered a medium filet mignon and I ordered a medium- WELL filet (ensuring a slight pink center with the server when ordering). Unfortunately the table we were moved to was the only table without a track light above, so we had to use our phone flashlight to confirm both steaks were in fact undercooked (at this point my husband is fuming as he has no problem with a little pink, but a med-rare to rare steak is unacceptable at that price point). Our server did eventually check in to ask if the food was cooked to temperature, however at this point the let down was already visible - as our bright red steaks should have been fairly obvious on the plates. Not wanting to cause further scenes and wait time, I urged my husband to let it go (my fault) only eating a few of his bites and we asked for the bill - hoping for some sort of acknowledgement of either the obvious send back of food or the actual roof leak scene. There was not, to my disappointment. As a result, I would hope in future that these type of things don't happen, but for the price point (high) and special occasion turning into a mini-mess, I would not return or recommend this location or be...
Read moreFirst time visiting last night, with my wife to celebrate our anniversary. Staff was over the top nice and incredibly attentive. They gave us a special anniversary menu to keep. The restaurant was spotless, smelled good seating and tables were clean and neat. The food was outstanding. We started with the fried calamari, which was cooked perfectly. The wedge salad to split was made into 2 portions for us without asking which was way more convenient than trying to share from the same bowl. Salad was cold, crisp and very fresh. We had the grass fed NY strip which was one of the best steaks I've had in a long time. Perfectly seared and seasoned. Great cut of steak. We also had a ribeye that was larger than we expected, cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. For sides, we went with the carrots which were so much better than expected, and the tots which were so good I made sure to save some to bring home for our kids. Waiter was great, hustled like crazy, kept our table spotless and utensils fresh and drinks full. The only aspect of the whole experience that wasn't perfect was the seating being a little crowded. I wanted to sit for a really nice meal with my wife and a fancy restaurant and have good conversation and enjoy each other's company after a long hectic week. We were sat next to a table of 4 younger adults who were drinking fairly heavily and got gradually louder throughout our dinner. We were only about 2 feet away from them so towards the end of our dinner we weren't even able to hear each other talking over their conversation. They weren't being rude at all just enjoying drinks and conversation as well, just unfortunately extremely close to our table, so we skipped desert and headed out. Did not ruin our experience at all, but did cut it a little short. I will absolutely come back with friends, we already have our next meal there picked out and are looking forward to stopping...
Read moreLast Sunday night we had an unforgettable experience at Moo in Burlington. Our waiter was amazing very attentive, but not over bearing. Our water glasses were never empty for more than a few seconds. This is very important to me as I usually drink a lot of water when we are out and hate having to wait or track someone down when my glass is empty. It was our first wedding anniversary and I was looking for a new place to try not in the city. We had heard so many wonderful things about Moo in the last few months from family and friends we decided to give it a shot. Let me tell you they did not disappoint!!! We started with roasted bone marrow as an appetizer something my husband and I had never had before. It was delicious and definitely worth trying if you have never had it. James the assistant manager came over to introduce himself after we finished dinner. We ended up going big and getting the tomahawk steak for two and it was outstanding. Cooked to perfection... I'm usually a medium rare girl, but im currently 38 weeks pregnant so we ordered it medium. We explained to James that not only was it our 1st wedding anniversary, I was going to be giving birth in a week or two and this would be our last nice meal for a little bit. We ended up ordering two desserts and sharing as there were so many good options and we couldn't decide. When they came out they had written Happy Anniversary and Congratulations on the plates... such a thoughtful touch. The desserts were made inhouse, huge, and delicious. I had never seen a crème brûlée so big!! Definitely shareable!!! Our waiter ended up buying our dessert as a congratulations which I thought was extra thoughtful. Thank you for making us feel so special on such an important night in our lives. We cannot wait to be back once we are adjusted to parenthood and able to sneak away for a...
