If not for the kind service from our waiter, this would be much lower. My boyfriend and I normally go to Valley Dairy in Kittanning and just - it's wonderful! We were out this way to get work done on his car that'd take about 3 hours so we figured we'd have time come to this Valley Dairy to eat. From the getgo, the wait for us to be seated was unnecessarily long. There was a long line of people trying to pay their bills and we just stood there and watched the woman at the front take care of all the transactions. Finally, we are seated and wait a while to have our waiter come up and take our drink orders. She was working like a dog, I tell you. She was marvelous! On our receipt, it says her name was Rita? Older woman and just such a gem; the three stars go to her, period. She brought our drinks and then took our food order. We probably waited about an hour to get our food. Rita came by our table to keep us posted about the wait and was just so gracious about it, even when after all that wait, she was telling us that they'd be starting our food soon. Weird.
When we got our food, though, the hash browns honestly looked like some weird kind of noodles; they were severely undercooked and had no flavor. I tried to put salt and pepper on them to get them some life, but yeah....it was one of the first times in my life I didn't want to eat potatoes. And I mean, that's scary because I mean....I'm an Irish girl; I will normally eat potatoes however you give them to me. I had ordered my eggs medium well, but they legitimately exploded on me and were running down my cheek when I took a bite out of a sandwich I made with them. I looked at my sandwich and there was no yolk remaining; a medium-well cooked egg would not be completely runny like that. Everything else was fine because, I mean, how do you mess up rye toast, right?
I feel like I can be seen as a Karen for posting all this, but I mean...I honestly just can't remember ever waiting that long for food at a restaurant and we ordered breakfast foods. Eggs, hash browns, bacon.....eh, those foods don't traditionally take super long to prepare...
Other random thing that totally bothered me while looking into the kitchen - one of the staff members was wearing her gloves and talking to a co-worker about teeth or something? She was lifting her lip up with her gloves on and touching her teeth....I wouldn't complain so much if I'd seen her remove them, but she resumed her life and took a drink out of her soda and whatnot with those same gloves still on like....if you know gloves are contaminated, remove them.
I am surprised I've never reviewed Valley Dairy in Kittanning because they're absolutely fantastic! I will say, though, that if you are in the Butler area and in the mood for some simple comfy diner food, I highly advise driving the extra half-hour or so to Kittanning's Valley Dairy. This location was extremely disappointing and I can't see any logical reasons for it to have...

The picture of the food is what came out after 4th time being taken back which isn't the waitresses fault it's the cook and the cook was the rude manager named Amber and the last time Liz took the plate back we heard her say some not very nice things and just threw the eggs on the cool side of the grill instead of the hot side and we asked the waitress to take the breakfast off and the manger had another attitude but took it off I would want a follow up about this thanks and we come in a lot and to be treated...
