Fortune Star — Restaurant in Butler Township

I have eaten at Fortune star many times. Depending on the day and time you go some of the food looks a touch old but it's never bad. The selection is great. You have your classic soups,Wonton ,Egg drop,and Hot and sour plus some thing American. All are fresh and delicious ,A big selection of appetizers french fries ,eggrolls (like 4 types) fried wonton ,spicy Vietnamese wings, pork pot stickers,cheese sticks and more. Kids food (American) Chicken nuggets, fried breaded fish squares, Pepperoni and cheese pizza. and of course chicken on a stick. A Hibachi grill with all the Asian favorites, a Sushi Bar with approximately 10 different items. Their main dishes are (American ) Baked Ham, Sausage / kielbasa, grilled Steak (medium) Baked fish roast pork loin in sauce. All the Asian classics plus different specialty items like frog legs ,steamed mussels, steamed clams and others. They also offer a large salad and dessert bar plus fruit. There is something for every one. The wait staff is courteous and helpful.l They offer lunch and dinner and On Friday and Saturday dinner they add Crablegs and other seafood items. Dinner on these two night's is a little more. Without beverage you'll walk out of lunch at $7.50 and Dinner at aprox.$11.50 (they do add more and different things for dinner explaining the price hike) Sliding scale for kids based on age. For a while this was one of my favorite places to go and then suddenly it happened. I was there on sat jan 28th. My meal was OK but when the check came I handed two $20 bills. I was then asked by the waitress if she could keep the change and I said no bring me the change. “ the reason for this is I like to sort out a certain type of tip.” She brings me my change in as I’m looking at it. I realize that she short changed me by just over two dollars now I know this is an a common mistake. She obviously did this thinking she was going to get stiffed on a tip. I would never stiff somebody on a tip as my mother worked as a waitress, most of her life to support me and my brother. Because of this, I am extremely disturbed and upset that somebody would go that far as to steal money from me without even waiting to see what kind of tip was going to be left. I’m just not sure I’m gonna come back short of management, getting a hold of me apologizing and probably offering me for a free meal. Wife and I would go there once a month. We started to notice some of the food was cold. Wait staff would stand there and watch you eat. We were having a nice lunch one day just sitting and talking and this one older lady kept watching us. I told my wife that she was creeping me out. When I go up to get what I want to eat, I load up so I don't have to get back up. This older lady come over to our table and said to us that we could pay for take out for the food I had on the table. I looked at her and said WHAT. I paid to eat my meal, Please go away and Stop watching us. It was like she thought I had some kind of Doggie bag and was stealing the food I had on my plate. That was it. We got up, I left all the food that we did not eat on our plates and I paid my bill at the front counter, NO TIP and Never have been back since ! They lost a GOOD Customer.
