Found a gem in the D Gates at SFO: Klein’s Deli. Fresh, customizable, and just what I needed.

I was flying out of SFO and needed something quick but satisfying before my flight. None of the other restaurants in the terminal looked appealing, so I was happy to stumble across Klein’s Deli at Gate D.

I ordered the North Beach sandwich, and the best part is that it was fresh-made to my liking. I asked them to leave off the tomatoes so it wouldn’t get soggy since I’d be eating it later. I ended up eating it about an hour later on the plane, and it was still perfect. Fresh bread, quality meats, melty mozzarella, crisp lettuce, pepperoncini, and their special sauce tied it all together.

This was hands-down a better choice than the usual grab-and-go bagged food. It tasted like a real deli sandwich, not “airport food.”

If you’re flying out of the D Gates, Klein’s is a solid stop for a fresh, hearty bite before your flight. I’ll definitely be...

THEY HAVE GLUTEN FREE!

Was the sandwich great? No. But it was clean, the avocado was fresh, and the service was friendly. The sandwich was kinda dry, but of course it was; Udi's brand bread is kinda dry. (That's why I prefer Schaar.) But airports are full of people who are just exhausted, hung over, and just want some fatty turkey lunchmeat and red onion with mustard slapped between two toasted Udi's. And ironically, that can be hard to find in San Francisco.

This business is filling an important niche, but here's the thing: it doesn't say "gluten free bread" anywhere on the menu, and I almost decided to walk away instead of asking. How many other customers are you losing like this? Just something to think about...

Anyway, thanks for the sandwich. You make my connecting flight a little more...

I had their Embarcadero hot sandwich (chicken, red pepper, pesto, mozzarella ciabatta) and I really enjoyed it! The man behind me in line was fumbling through an order and took one look at my sandwich as it came out of their over and asked “what is THAT!? I’ll take one of those!” And he proceeded to recommend to everyone behind him in line. As I ate at the adjacent tables enjoying my meal, waiting for my flight, the same man and the group he was with continued to recommend the Embarcadero sandwich to others inquiring what they should get. Safe to say that this is a crowd favorite! Service was super friendly and patient with my initial indecisiveness, but thanks to them I’ll be flying off with a full and...

I gave a 4 star on atmosphere, because usually this airport is very crowded. Today it was a breeze and very quick. I made a build your own, and I was attended by Mr Jade, whom was very attentive, courteous, and friendly. The food here is always great, but today, being able to eat in peace and not under pressure, made it that much better. Combine it with really good customer service it made my experience, so much better. If you’re at SFO and want a quick bite along with great attitude and customer service, definitely stop by Kleins Deli. I’m not a fake review, but I may have had a drink and that is where the extra joy came from my sandwich this afternoon.

It was just fine. How I ended up paying $25 for a lox and a large mocha I don't know. The lox wasn't that great, it was just fine, but way too expensive at $15. It was mostly just tomato, very little salmon. Typical airport prices though. The Cafe mocha wasn't bad, I liked it. The people working were pretty neutral, I have no qualms there. I was there at 7am on a Wednesday and there was about 6 of us in line and it moved fast. There seems to be 2 lanes and no one really knew where to order from or line up though. We just chose to go to the one by the coolers.
