Dec 2023 Increasing the rating to 4 star though much of the comments below still remain the same. I am increasing to 4 stars as the sushi we tried a few days ago were not so bad. I would still suggest "profitability through better value and customer-oriented services."
Below from 2018 This place is a good example of the state of the restaurants at SFO where a little bit more value (and some courteousness for this one) could make buyers leave with the good feeling of it being an oasis (something to look forward as a break) along tiresome journeys rather than feeling gauged as a captive customer...
Had their tempura udon. A bit salty, insufficient amount of broth, stale and lukewarm tempura, and no vegetable tempura... all for 18 dollars with a drink.
A business model change (customer and not just bottomline centric at the expense of quality, valu, and service) should help make this a far more enjoyable AND profitable. Come to think of it, such a change could be useful in many airports, like ORD. Perhaps city municipalities (or the landlords) should mandate such prerequisite on their tenants as they are the initial faces...
Read moreBuyer be aware. Lady at front added 2 more plates to the receipt. When we questioned ourselves in front of her so strange 100 dollars for 3 plates and a few other small items (each plate was about 14 bucks), she remained silent. This whole time we had said why 100 for 3 various times in front of her she stayed silent. The moment we asked for receipt she said she charged us for 5. She later turned around spoke to someone in their language and laughed.
I am not surprised they rob clients due to no one looking or thinking due to rush of airports.

Avoid this place like the plague! The owner or lady at the counter that took my order, was extremely rude, condescending, and impatient. I can’t believe I paid $27.00 for lunch for mediocre food and got such a horrible attitude and terrible service. After I paid for my order and stepped aside, the lady made a rude comment in Chinese to one of her staff, not knowing that I’m fluent and can understand Chinese. She gives Asian people a bad reputation.
This whole experience upset me so much that I lost my appetite and couldn’t even finish my lunch.
There are so many better choices for food at the San Francisco airport so I recommend you go elsewhere to eat. Even Burger King next door would...
