The food was ridiculously overpriced for the alleged “family style” sizes served. The server at this establishment failed to mention that the waters served to my table cost money. My group paid $20 for STILL WATER! This wouldn’t have been a problem if the server had enlightened us at the beginning of service of the price, but she did not, and there was no menu either that stated this cost. Furthermore, the food served was the farthest from authentic Italian food I’ve had in a long time, with the Focaccia bread served being more akin to toasted Wonder Bread smothered in oil and Parmesan. The Brussel Sprouts my friend was served that cost $15 was quite literally just microwaved lettuce served on a plate with some salt and pepper.
In addition, the tables provided to my party of six was too small for all of our food, having packed us in to a very small part of the room. The seats attached to the wall where we were sitting barley were big enough for a person to sit on.
If you want actual good Italian food that provides a good service, then Mangia Mi is not the restaurant you’re looking for.
Edit: Hello Mangia Mi Management! Thank you for your incredibly condescending response!
Apologies for not addressing your staff in person, but in case you were unaware, the purpose of Google Reviews is to leave reviews, so that’s what we were doing.
Not once did we insult anyone specifically on the team; we left an honest opinion of your restaurant since we left very disappointed in our experience. Telling our group to “grow up a little” and “eat at olive garden” is extremely disrespectful and condescending. Yes, we are college students and therefore that is why we were surprised we had to pay $20 for water when we asked for tap. Furthermore, the “half size” $28 dish ordered was consumed by only one person in our group, and was most definitely only meant for one person size wise.
Hopefully you and your team can use this as a learning lesson since it is clear your only method of responding to customers with complaints is to belittle them.
As a restaurant establishment, it is your job to receive negative feedback without attacking the customers themselves. I worked in the restaurant business for two years and not once did my company act condescending or rude when faced with customers complaints. Saying we are immature for simply leaving a Google Review of our experience is completely disrespectful and again casts a very poor light on the nature of your customer service.
Will not be returning but we thank you again for taking the time to belittle and condescend my group and I. We will happily be visiting Olive Garden soon because not once have we been met with disrespect...
Read moreWent in here tonight for dinner and had an up and down experience. We got a table quickly and the servers were all very nice. It’s a cool little restaurant that has a very cozy feel. The appetizers that we had were very good (lemon garlic shrimp and garlicky broccolini)!
We ran into trouble with our entrees unfortunately. We ordered the goat cheese pizza after the server said that it was hands down her favorite. She did explain to us that it had a few different kinds of cheeses, but when it arrived the amount of cheese was intense. I know what you’re thinking, “it’s a pizza, what do you expect?” Trust me when I say, it had way more than we expected, especially considering the other pizzas that had come out around us seemed to have a reasonable amount of cheese on them. It was to the point that we at the table couldn’t handle it, especially considering I’m allergic to dairy.
Which brings me to my next point. During our conversation with the server about which pasta I should get I mentioned that I was allergic to dairy. When the pasta dish I ordered came out it was covered in Parmesan cheese. My body can handle some Parmesan used in tomato and meat based sauces as a binder, but the extra on top is hard for me to handle. Because of the issue we already had with the pizza I decided to bite the bullet and eat what I was given.
When I brought the issue of the pizza to the server she didn’t offer much help. We ordered another to go and when the bill came we had been charged in full for both. I understand it’s not required that they do anything for us, but it sucked having to pay that bill when we were misled on the pizza description and I had to deal with a dish that is probably going to make me...
Read moreWe came in for dinner on April 12. Let’s start with the positives: the service is stellar. We were seated promptly by a friendly hostess and the waitstaff was attentive and courteous. The drinks are also excellent – we each had the house red, which was a generous pour and tasted like a very good Merlot blend. Beyond these bright spots, I’m afraid that the food was terrible with the predominant flavor being salt. For Antipasto, we ordered the olives, artichoke hearts, and housemade sausage. The olives were all green olives brined in water, that tasted like the canned variety. I would have expected a variety of olives brined in olive oil and herbs. The artichoke hearts were non-descript and tasted slightly bland, like they were bottled. The sausage was disappointing – consisting of chunks of ground meat that had been coated in salt and breadcrumbs and deep fried. There was little flavor but that of salt. The Greek salad we ordered featured very fresh greens, but was overall drenched in an extremely vinegary and salty dressing and then covered in far too much feta (perhaps it was our mistake of not ordering dressing and cheese on the side). The “all-day” Bolognese was also disappointing. While the pappardelle was clearly housemade and good, the sauce was awful and consisted of non-descript chunks of ground meat swimming in a clear and very salty broth. There were little flecks of tomato here and there, and no herbs – and the dish was...
