Neat location, off the beaten path, inside the same building as a private apartment building. Cute place.
When I called, the lady who answered seemed desperate to get someone in there but after going there, I realize that's just her curt demeanor. She smiles and everything, but her service was better suited for the couple sitting in front of me and the table of four who sat in the corner. Apparently dining for one is outlandish for her and Ian had to pick up the slack and thank goodness too because I would've walked out. He really saved the day.
I asked about parking and neither Louisa or Ian really knew. They should know. If no one knows, find out. Have a solid answer. I'm a very long way from my hotel and even further from my home down South and traveling alone to get my car towed is nerve wracking.
This place offers HH 4-6p M-F.
They were out of a couple of items, but the only reason I found out is because I tried to order them. Apparently Louisa learned from not telling me, she shared the information with the next few tables.
I had the Beets -- sooo good! You should make that an entree. I had the pea soup. It comes topped with prosciutto, so if you're a vegan, tell the server to leave it off. They deliver the soup bowl with the radiccino inside with sprouts and pour the hot pea soup over it. No warning of how they serve it. Some of us who have never been to your restaurant, the experience of the food and how you delivery it AND the conversation is everything. I couldn't even record it. Someone please clue Louisa in on her flow. She needs to slow down and eat out more to develop herself.
The desserts were good. The Olive Oil cake dessert was a tad dry. Maybe cut back on the flour or dry ingredients? It was hot out of the oven though. Can't beat that. I had the tiramisu too. I know shame on me. This was excellent. The cream on top, very thick. Different than anything I've tasted....
Read moreFour of us went for dinner on 10/21/22. I ordered a bowl of soup and a $19 appetizer. While waiting I decided to order a scotch and soda, and then another. I did not call a top shelf scotch just wanted what was in their well. I was stunned when I received my bill and was charged $20 for each scotch and soda! I was very upset, but did not raise my voice or use bad language. I tipped my waitress according to my bill, and told her several times that is wasn't her fault. I asked for contact info for the owner so I could call the next day. Imagine my surprise when the owner turned it on me, said I made the waitress cry, but never justified charging me $40 for two scotch and sodas! I'm old enough to remember when an owner actually cared about the customer, but I guess in these times when finding employees has become difficult, even employees who don't represent your company well are better than nothing. We were the last table of the night, and I believe I was deliberately over charged. Lesson learned, ask for prices up front. Addendum: I've read the response of this over the top owner, and have discovered Google allows this owner to lie and slander you in an attempt to bully you into taking it down, so honestly think twice before you do a review. I categorically deny his lies. I don't get "drunk" and I don't get "abusive." I told the truth, I was charged $40 for 2...
Read moreI’ve never left a review, but had to on this one, this is a 1 star dressed as a 4 star because I can’t sink to the level of the unit I’m about to refer to. The chef here goes to other local restaurants and ignorantly leaves bad reviews. He came to my restaurant, shoved his business card in my managers clearly occupied hands and proceeded to order off of our small plates section (that has house milled masa products, laminated doughs and hyper seasonal proteins)($10-15) complaining there was no “bang for buck”, shortly after complimenting everything like he was on the food network. After that, he ignorantly and continuously called our Costa Rican food Cuban (hey theyre all the same, right?), critiqued our atmosphere on an off season Monday night then passed the bill off entirely to his guest like the real hospitable person he is.
Meanwhile I was coincidentally at this restaurant when I saw the review come in, stating the above. I had the pleasure of eating flatbreads from the freezer, unopened mussels, a Caesar salad that was laughable and shishito peppers in the middle of May with the most broken romesco I’ve ever seen, littered in syscos finest micro greens.
Again, I’m all for supporting my local community even if the food needs a doctor, but the ignorance of this guy who is serving sheer lazy mediocrity forced me to leave...
