My dining experience was deeply underwhelming. I saw the restaurant online and thought it would be a great idea for brunch with a colleague. When I approached the host, she rolled her eyes and gave a toothless grin. I found it odd but still had high hopes. We were seated and waiter was prompt. However, I felt the sense as if he was doing us some sort of favor, annoyed to be serving us or that we were bothersome. Be mindful we never asked for anything special and we were quick to put in our complete order.
The tater tots arrived and it was poorly presented. As if someone threw the ingredients on a plate. I still had high hopes. The taste was so-so, something that could have been left off the menu.
During our time seated I noticed a table left and was provided sturdy to go containers and packaging. I said to myself “Ahh looks like I could safely take this disaster home to fix”. Keep this in mind
Then the entrees came, I ordered a sort of “Asian” dubbed sandwich. What came out was laughable at best. It was a thinly cut piece of chicken breast (meat clearly old) with far too much breading and Buffalo sauce. What’s a girl to do but laugh at such a disappointment! We requested to-go containers and were surprised to receive flimsy styrofoam and thank you bags. I know we aren’t at the fanciest of joints but why would we get those as opposed to what others received. I had barely ate and obviously would require adequate packaging. I inquired about the difference to my server and instead of a swift apology and providing the desired item, he goes “that’s an odd thing to be offended by”.
Tiny bugs kept buzzing around our drinks and food ( we’re outside and it’s expected). If the service wasn’t this way maybe this could have been overlooked or not as bothersome.
Overall, I wouldn’t dine again or recommend anyone to go. I don’t need an apology or reply from Management. First impressions last.
I digress. Correct the issues surrounding staff professionalism and overall guest satisfaction. Do better
Edit: After such a bad experience, forgot to mention how I liked that they...
Read moreWe came here for a friend's birthday this weekend. Overall the drinks were amazing. Probably my favorite part.nour service was also really really good and the atmosphere was cool. There were multiple times throughout the night where the bartenders would ring a loud bell and also everyone to joing in to cheer for someone's birthday. This made the atmosphere fun and loud which was perfect for the type of night we were looking for. One policy I don't agree with nor do I like is the fact that they don't take reservations on the weekends. We had plans for a large group of us to meet up for a friend's birthday here. This mean our friends partner had to arrive 40 minutes early to try to avoid a wait, but it was still almost a 2 hour hour from the time she arrived and they could still barely make it work with out party size. I would keep this is mind when planning a larger group event here on the weekend. My wife ordered the grilled chicken sandwich which she said was cooked really well and enjoyed. The bacon on it was a little undercooked so she took it off but we all know everyone has their own preference for how they want their bacon cooked. I had the spicy Korean chicken sandwich and it was super tasty. The sauce had a kick but was still flavorful and had a little hit of peanut flavoring in it. Our group also had the Mac and Cheese bites and the huge German pretzel. Both of these were really good. I especially enjoyed the dipping sauce that came with the Mac and cheese bites. Other meals I was told were all top notch included the California bowl with ahi tuna, the prime rib sandwich, and the Tuscan chicken. From a drink perspective, the BlackBerry mule was to die for!!! It was a little sweet but still soo refreshing. I would go back here just for this...
Read moreRuined Experience Due to Outdoor Heater
We visited Mavericks on Saturday, March 8th, around 8 PM to celebrate my husband's birthday. While the atmosphere was lively and the food was great, our entire experience was ruined by the outdoor heater positioned directly over our table.
From the moment we sat down, the heat was overwhelming. The table was hot to the touch, and despite being nowhere near tall (I'm 5' 1"), I could feel it BAKING my head—and worse, my young son was suffering too. We immediately asked the staff to turn it off, which they did, but within five minutes, it turned back on. This happened four times throughout our meal. Each time, we’d start to feel relief, only to be blasted by intense heat again.
It got so bad that we had to step outside multiple times just to cool off. I tried to enjoy the evening, but I was physically uncomfortable the entire time. My scalp was burning and still hurt 30 minutes after leaving. My son, who is sensitive to heat, became overstimulated and panicky, which made it impossible to relax and enjoy our meal.
The worst part is that this could have been avoided if the heater had just stayed off when we asked. Instead, it kept turning back on and ruining what should have been a nice night out. We pushed through and finished our meals, but it was an incredibly unpleasant and disruptive experience.
Mavericks is a great spot with good food, and I would have recommended it otherwise. But until they address this issue with their heaters, I won’t be back. If you’re seated in the patio area, be warned—you might find yourself cooking along...
