White Castle — Restaurant in Canton Township

White Castle! From my youth I have fond memories of walking to White Castle in Elmhurst, New York on Queens Boulevard. We would go there sometimes after shopping at Macy’s or the Mall or visiting friends or doing other things. My father would sometimes make a special stop on the way home on the subway from Manhattan to pick up White Castle. It was a treat later on to be sent myself to pick them up. It was a temptation not to eat them all as I walked home.

As a teenager it was a safe place to go any time day or night.

When I moved to Michigan 21 years ago I was happy to see the White Castle here in Canton, Michigan on Ford Road. Amazingly the burgers were made and tasted nearly exactly the same as the ones I had as a child, teenager and young adult.

The service at this location is casual and friendly. The dining area is kept clean and pristine. The folks here work really hard and it shows. Something I didn’t have when growing up at White Castle was Church’s Fried Chicken – well – they have it now! Hot fried chicken, delicious biscuits, cole slaw, sides – it’s all there!

My favorite lately has been the White Castle burgers (sliders) with Jalapeno Cheese slices – wow! Zing!

It’s easy in to the parking lot heading east on Ford Road – it takes a little planning if you are heading west but a simple turn and you are there safely. (Watch the intersection at Ford and Haggerty! Caution!) Plenty of parking. The grounds and parking lot are kept clean and clear in all weather. White castle has pretty good food. THIS particular white castle has an inordinate amount of bad customer service. I am not without empathy or understanding when lunch is busy....still....there is a process to getting orders correct and having a clean restaurant. I can handle a missed item or botched order...totally understandable. But this is rather routine at this location. Most tables were covered in crumbs and dried ketchup, and there were no napkins to be found in the machine. The orders weren't particularly complicated (add ketchup mustard, no pickles on 3 of the burgers) but execution was missing, I simply think the staff is probably busy and also not concerned with prep care. This is my third time coming here in the past 4 months, and each time the order has been wrong (not prepared to order or missing from the order) and cleanliness was an issue. The young lady wearing glasses taking my order couldn't have cared less or taken her time to see that the order was correct, I've had her before with similar results. I'm updating my review for White Castle #040021 location on Ford Rd in Canton Michigan. I had hoped that it improved over the many months. I had given them 3 stars. But the crew that worked tonight TM #359 ON 12/19/2024 REGISTER #5 at 06:37:45pm Sale # 188555533 customer#577 I called and spoke to manager. My husband ask for extra pickles. WE DIDNT GET, BURGERS WERE DRY AND TASTED STALL . ONION CHIPS WERE OLD AS HELL. I OVER HEARD GUY SAY HE WASNT DROPING AND FRESH. HE WAS WAY TO BUST TRYING TO GET HIS FLIRT ON WITH THE YOUNG LADIES THAT WERE PREPARING TO BURGERS/ SLIDERS. THIS CREW OF YOUNG PEOPLE EITHER NEED TO BE TERMATED IR RETRAINED.
