My husband and I have been looking for a nice experience to just decompress for a long weekend for just us two. We search on Google for Hotels not too far from us but nothing that was $300+ a night either. Priceline was giving good prices and the locations seemed fairly reasonable close. The pictures of the rooms of the hotels looked really nice. We ended up choosing Baymont of Wyndham in Canton off of Ford rd and Haggerty. As that seemed like a good price, not too far from our jobs and the pictures online seemed like they were clean and kept up. As we arrive to the hotel, it definitely was not what was shown online. The pictures that I have attached with the review here are just a few of what we saw when we pulled up. There were several doors that looked as if they had been kicked in, caution tape on upper levels and some on lower levels, there was a couple outside of their car in the parking lot fighting to the point I was terrified to step out of my car. I told my husband that we are not staying here. He contacts the hotel and Priceline not looking for a refund at first just looking to change locations but same hotel but in a better area where the hotel is not run down and looking as if we'd have to fear to fall asleep. When he called to speak to the hotel and Priceline they both gave us the run around stating they can't switch hotel locations as one isn't available. He then stated that we would like a refund as we feel unsafe at this location and since we can't switch locations that is the only option at this point. Baymont stated that it is Priceline's responsibility to refund due to it being a 3rd party site that we paid through. We contacted Priceline to discuss with them. They stated that it is Baymont's responsibility for the refund. we then spoke with the manager at Priceline as I wasn't going to play this back and forth game. Priceline's manager spoke with Baymont's manager. Baymont's manager stated since we didn't check in that there isn't anything they could do to refund Priceline, so Priceline couldn't refund us back. The price we paid was $250 for 3 days/4 nights. the only option that Priceline wanted to give us was 15% discount on our next time booking with them. We stated that we didn't even care to receive that as we paid $250 for our stay that we didn't even get to enjoy. We ended up booking another hotel with a great experience. But we are still out $250 dollars that we don't have to just throw away. I DON'T RECOMMEND EVER VISITING BAYMONT BY WYNDHAM in CANTON on FORD ROAD and HAGGERTY in CANTON MICHIGAN.

My fiance and I were in town for our anniversary, and we always try to stay with Baymont, as we have always loved our previous stays with other locations. We arrived at 3pm to check in, as we had plans for the afternoon. Understandably, it took a while, as they were busy. We got into our room between 3:20 and 3:30, to which we immediately noticed the broken window, and lock on the door. My fiance, then realized a light was not working as well. I picked up the phone to call the desk for a new room, because the broken window was enough for me to not feel comfortable in that one. The phone was disconnected and didn't work. So I walked down to the desk myself. I spoke to the manager, Melissa and asked for a new room. My exact wording was "Is it possible to get a new room? Our window is broken, and so is the lock." I was not rude, just matter of fact. She turned to her associate, Lisa and asked her to have another room cleaned, but was very rude about it. Her words to Lisa were "Can you have them clean this room for her, there are some MINOR issues she's to good for" This was also in a very snarky tone of voice. I immediately got irritated, as I had not been rude, and she chose to be. I looked at Lisa and said "These are not MINOR issues. Our window, AND door lock are broken!" Lisa graciously came up to the room with me to take a look, and profusely apologized for Melissa's behavior. Apparently they had been very busy, and completely booked for 3 days because of power outages. I told Lisa that I understand, and empathize with them, but that Melissa's behavior was uncalled for. Lisa saw the broken window and agreed that it was not minor, and also explained that they break the metal door jams all the time when guests overextend their welcome. She said that unfortunately they were fully booked, and that if I called them in an hour, she might have another room for me. I told her I appreciated her for trying, and for being so patient, but that after Melissa's attitude, I did not want to stay. She told me that she completely understood, and that if my 3rd party booking service called them, she would give me a free cancelation due to the service. Lisa was absolutely amazing. But there is NO reason Melissa should be manager. She doesn't belong in the hospitality business.

Gina was the only good thing about this Hotel. The GM was not accommodating and didnt feel bad about anything. Had to move rooms twice because the first room the people by us were smoking weed and i have a child with Asthma and a 20month old. The second room had chunks of mold in the AC unit, which they did nothing about and still rented the room out. The last room we were put in had a nail sticking up, the battery went out in the smoke detector, broken toliet paper holder, and dogs that barked none stop by us. There was a maintenance guy who was staying there who was painting and kept buying more drugs from the same person and thought he wasnt being noticed. Cops there twice within 2hrs because people couldnt act grown. Girls sitting out by the pool smoking blunts while my kids were trying to swim. I have nothing against smoking BUT NOT BY MY CHILDREN!! They have zero tolerance yet do nothing about it. Said Free breakfast yet first morning they ran out and after 20mins of waiting we gave up. Second morning the eggs were under cooked, no waffles, no juice. 3rd morning only bisquits and gravy and the front desk said thats all there was. I have a kid with diabetes who cant have carbs like that and they are supposed to ALWAYS provide eggs (i worked at a hotel for 6yrs) yet she said she wasnt cooking anything extra. I had gotten my room through priceline so they tried to work with the GM but hes worthless and wont do anything to fix any issues or make something right. I was told because i stayed i couldnt get any kind of refund. Yet the first night i was going to leave they told me they wouldnt refund me because i had went through priceline. The nail is right when you walk in the room from the hard floor to the carpet. I had to put a towel on it so no one hurt their foot.

We stayed here this weekend and were appalled by the poor cleanliness and maintenance of the rooms! Honestly, the room felt more like a health hazard than a hotel.||First, the room itself was filthy. The carpet had visible stains, food, wrappers, and empty drink containers from previous guests, which made me question if the room had been vacuumed at all. They had obviously painted and not laid down any sort of cloth, so there were paint flecks everywhere. The bedding had multiple yellowish stains, leaving us extremely uncomfortable about sleeping there. Unfortunately, we had arrived late at night and had nowhere else to go. ||The windows were covered in smudges, and the curtains had mysterious stains on them. The window ledges were covered in dead bugs and had a mysterious gel-type substance dripping down the heating system. The refrigerator had old dried food stuck to it. All the furniture and walls/trim had visible chips/scratches, etc. ||The bathroom was even worse. There was visible mold and mildew in the shower and around the sink area, along with a strong, unpleasant odor. I found pubic hairs and dirty baseboards with TONS of dirt layered up. The provided soap containers had dripped all over and hardened against the wall of the shower, showing it had not been cleaned in a long time. It felt impossible to feel comfortable or relaxed in a space that was so neglected and unhygienic. We both refused to sit down on the actual toilet, nor to take a shower, it was that disgusting.||The ceiling had a large area of water damage that they obviously just continued to paint over - but there was literally a falling bulge and an actual hole into the ceiling. The walls had so many splatters of different liquids - looking like beer, soda, and some unknown colors. ||In addition, the deadbolt on the door to the room was broken and did not work. It was locked by keycard, but the additional deadbolt for security was not working. We literally piled up furniture in front of the door to feel safe. ||Overall, the elevators were dirty, the place smelled old and musty, and REEKED of marijuana everywhere you went. There were dogs running up and down the hallways every time we looked out. ||There was a random sign placed on the front desk letting everyone know that they were going to be in all the rooms beginning at 9 am on Sunday morning to replace curtains and if you didn't allow them in, you'd be charged for the labor of the crew to return? This was not disclosed ahead of time and we had to check out an hour before we planned with nowhere to go before our event - frustrating - though, to be honest, we woke up as early as possible just to get out of there.||Also, the ice bucket? It's an old sour cream container from gordan foods. ew.||Also, be aware that if you are put on the 1st floor, it's a motel style - meaning your windows and doors and hallway are all open to the parking lot, not an interior hallway for security. ||I reached out to management, as the employee at the desk was nice and it was not her fault. I am STILL waiting for a response and have had no return phone call. ||For the price I paid, I expected a decent place to stay and even a basic attention to cleanliness.||This experience was unacceptable, and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Save yourself the frustration and look elsewhere – this was by far the dirtiest, most disappointing stay...

I got the room for a week. Check in took over an hour. When I checked in the 1st room had a tv controller that didn't work, they couldn't find a controller so they transferred me to a different room. That room didn't have a controller either so they transferred me to another room which also didn't have a tv controller. Then the girl at the front desk asked the maintenance guy where the controllers were at and she found one so I asked to be moved back to my original room since that TV had buttons on it so I figured if the controller didn't work I could at least watch TV. So the next morning I left for work and get back to the room and all my stuff was gone and the room was clean. They never moved me from the 3rd room back to the original room in the system. They bagged up all of my belongings and put it down in the office. I had spent what money I had on food and had it in the room along with dishes and all of it was thrown away. When the girl at the desk apologized and took my number down to get a hold of management to see if I could be compensated for what was thrown away. I never heard from management that night. So the next morning I call to make sure that I was put in the system in the correct room and the manager answered saying she was just getting ready to call me and apologized for the inconvenience and if there was anything she could do to let her know. I told her they could at least compensate me for what they threw of mine away my food, drinks and dishes. I spoke with her at 8:30 am. She said she would call me back as soon as she got a definite answer as to what she could do and I have yet to hear back from her. The trashes at the stairwells are always overflowing and bags of garbage on the ground. The rooms are not the cleanest. I will not walk around without shoes on in the room at all. They even took a pillow off of the bed in the room when they cleaned it. I checked in with 4 and when I returned there was only 3. The computer system went down so they were giving away master keys to people to get into their rooms since they couldn't program keys so they could use that to get into any room. This hotel is just run down and needs a lot of maintenance and so in my opinion they are charging way to much for what the hotel is. I didn't see any bugs which is a plus but there are a lot of people that live here and walking by rooms with their doors open I can see how some room could possibly have bugs of some sort but like I mentioned I have not seen any. It does have a pool but it's hardly used so it seems. They do allow dogs here. I am just so frustrated about how long it took me to get into a room when I checked in then all of my stuff was thrown away and bagged up and I have yet to hear about compensation for my items that were in my room that was paid for for a a week because someone didn't do their job correctly. The housekeepers here obviously don't check things like they should 3 rooms with no tv controllers is crazy to me. I will be updating once I find out if I will be compensated or not. The lobby is nice but is deceiving the rooms are nowhere as nice as what...
