Went to buy shoes and was asked by merry like Christmas she stated, if I had TJ Maxx rewards. I said no she asked if I wanted to sign up. I said to myself rewards sweet. She asked for my ID. I followed the prompts on the screen she then handed me a packet and said sorry it didn't go through. Maybe you typed something wrong. Now I'm confused why would rewards reject me. Then we read the packet and discovered she attempted to get me a credit card not a rewards card and somehow I didn't give her the proper information. Unfortunately for me, her deceit dropped my credit score 2 points. Not a huge deal but that tactic made my wife and I think it was just a quick sign and get 20 percent off the next purchase or something. I then told her I didn't know I was applying for a credit card and she worded it rewards. She said oh I'm sorry. Call this number (that's on the packet) and you might win 500 dollars have a nice day. I just felt she should have said what it was and I would have declined. I don't shop there enough to need their credit card. I left feeling played. She did teach me a valuable lesson... Don't jump at every deal offered. Do your research...
Read moreI've been here a few times they never really have much of what I'm looking for when I'm actually shopping for specific stuff but there are a few gems to find. Today I was extremely disappointed in their service. I checked out and had 2 glass items in which the cashier just threw in a bag. I didn't feel like adressing it because I experienced this issue at a sister store the day before. I was annoyed and didn't want to come off rude so I just grabbed my stuff and proceeded to walk out. A few registers down as I was leaving I saw some wrapping paper on the counter so I stopped and asked the supervisor or manager (unsure) if I could have a sheet or 2 to wrap my products as the cashier didn't do so. Instead of saying yes, sure, or of course at minimum, I was instead answered with showing hands (displeasure/annoyance), no words. I took the paper and walked out of the store. I wrapped the products as I walked to my car while my husband held the bags. I expected so much more from this establishment......
Read moreNever...EVER use layaway in this store. I had about $380 worth of clothes and other items at the Canton, MI Marshall’s. Most of the items were for my daughters birthday and Christmas. The items were only on layaway for 10 days. It took five employees an hour and a half to tell me definitively that the clothing could not be found. The manager did not offer to find the items at other locations nor did they offer to keep looking and call me. There HAS to be a way that clothing can be identified as a layaway item. That way when employees potentially remove items out of the layaway stockroom the cashier will know the items were from layaway. Even something as simple as marking an L on the tag might prevent this tomfoolery from happening. Marshall’s - you need...
