Thai Mango Canton — Restaurant in Canton

I wish I could give a good review. I wish I could have complained to them and maybe I could have gotten our meal comped, but I was so appalled at the quality of food I could not complain. We were so shocked. I don't know if this makes any sense. It was the worst meal we have ever been served.

My fiance ordered mango chicken stir-fry. It comes in a bowl because it's very soupy. You could taste mango.... medium hot... umm yeah maybe a little spice. Definitely not a level 3 out of 5. My fiance described the base flavor as tomato soup with mango. He sub fried rice for the white. The rice wasn't worth the extra $3... it was like brown rice with egg. He ate all of it because he was starving.

I ordered Pad Thai with extra vegetables. I stressed I wanted vegetables and to throw as many as possible along with shrimp. When it came out all it had was extra CELERY, carrots and zucchini. I didn't even get what the Pad Thai came with... bean sprouts and green onions. I know i aksed for vegetables, but seriously?? Celery? That flavor hade no reason to be in that dish. They had broccoli, mushrooms, peppers and onions to pick from. I literally said i would pay whatever extra.. The spice level was zero. I asked for medium hot. This dish was also swimming in sauce. I could not finish it.

I don't believe these people know how to cook. I'm half Thai, but I never expect any place to cook like my mom. The level of basic cooking skills is just not here. I truly hope this was an off night for them, but unfortunately i am traumatized and I will not try again.

The service was good. I would never not take care of a server due to the inadequacy of the kitchen.

We were excited to try a restaurant that we haven’t tried in the area. Not the greatest choice. As has been said, an 84 for the health score. The menu looks and reads to be exciting. We were cautious. We shared appetizers and one entree. Smart move. The appetizers were adequate, not memorable. The young man server, was very disengaged and never refilled drinks or checked on us after the meal was served. The entree was not very fresh. The chicken was a funny color and had a definite “old” taste. We may have said something about it if someone would have checked on us. Chances are you have driven by Thai Mango hundreds of times and not even noticed it. It’s located next door to the Chick-fil-a on GA-20 and the same strip center as Cheeseburger Bobby’s.

I drive from 30 minutes away just to eat here! So if you live in the Canton area and have not eaten here yet well it’s your loss. But no seriously if you don’t have the time to eat at the restaurant order take out and grab it on your way home from work and watch your family celebrate when you bring home something different than boring tasteless pizza. Thai Mango’s dishes are so flavorful!
