It may look like your average neighborhood Mexican restaurant, but De Allende is anything but! The atmosphere is perfect. You definitely get a family vibe feeling in the restaurant. The food was beyond delicious. You get bigger portions compared to other restaurants for your money and the food definitely has that fresh taste compared to other restaurants. We had a party of 15 and they sat us pretty quickly. When our food arrived, our expectations continued to be exceeded. Staff including Management was attentive to our drinks getting low and ensuring we were satisfied with everything or checking up to see if we needed anything else, but not to the point where one would get annoyed with the wait staff. Just the right amount of attention. Sophia is definitely the best and very accommodating. I ordered the Chicken Spinach for dinner as well as a spicy guacamole. Ordered a specialty margarita (mango) as well and it was delicious. Most of our party were first time visitors to the restaurant and said they would definitely be back and prefer this over other restaurants. Would certainly recommend this restaurant!!!

Will not be returning. Almost none of the menu items came out as described on the menu (when they finally came out), and they were almost all burnt or full of a massive amount of grease. Ordered two of the same dish, and both were completely different. My rice tasted like regular Mexican rice, but my husband’s tasted like Minute white rice that was stained orange. Shocked by how different they were! Black beans tasted like the metal can they came out of. Half of our order was brought to the table 10 minutes after the first half. They brought out the kid’s meals last, and they were too hot to eat. Chips were thick and tasted burnt. Slow, SLOW service. Could go on forever. I should’ve known it was going to be awful when it was completely dead on a Sunday during lunch. The only good thing was the flavor of the refried beans, if you can get over how watery they are. Just go across the street to La Parilla and save yourself some time and a nasty taste in your mouth.

We came here a couple years ago and to be honest it was horrific, I would have given one star back then. The drinks were OK but the food was barely edible. They had no chicken on the menu and what they scrounged up was some kind of pre breaded frozen chicken patty they tried to put into a taco. It was awful, both of us hated our food and we swore we would never come back. We saw a recent post where they were under new management so we thought we would give them another shot. I am so glad we came back the difference was like night and day! The food was absolutely delicious, very marinated well seasoned and and also large portions for a really good price. We both got burritos and they were absolutely delicious and they were so large we had to take half our food home with us. Very tasy salsa too! Drinks were also delicious! Service was a bit slow, almost an hour and a half for a weekday lunch, but we will be back. They made some amazing changes here!

First visit was on October 2nd evening. The waitress made the whole experience wonderful. She was extremely helpful and friendly. The recommendations she made were amazing. The best drink out of the three we tried, was the chamoyada. The hibiscus and the mango margarita were also amazing. The food was also amazing. I’ll definitely recommend sitting at her table when you go to this restaurant. Her name was Christina if I remember correctly. The place was clean. Even the bathroom. And we all know (at least women know) that ladies restrooms are usually extra nasty wherever you go. I was more than happy to leave her an almost 50% tip. So well deserved. You’re probably asking urself, Why one star? Well I made the mistake of going there once again one December 3rd evening. The food was salty. Everything we ordered was either salty or not well put together. The chamoyada was in the wrong cup, the straw was submerged. You had to dig your finger in it to get it out. And the tajin coating the straw left no space for you put your mouth. The Catrina nachos was salty, the sauce of the birria was salty (while during my first visit it was so good I was drinking spoonfuls of it), the fish taco was good. Now let’s talk abt the service. The staff was extremely busy hanging out and giggling at the bar or at the table by the bathroom hallway than they were assisting and serving us. I asked different staff members for a straw as soon as I got my first drink (for reasons I explained above), and by the time we received the appetizer and moved onto the main dishes, we still haven’t heard from anyone. Same with extra paper towels. We also needed the habenero sauce, but to be able to request it, it would have been nice to get a worker by our table or catch their attention. Mission impossible of course. Hanging out was important. Probably why they were out of the appropriate glasses for the chamoyada (no one available to wash them). The food was getting cold and saltier and we couldn’t properly eat because some items were missing and still not there. Had to walk to the bar, ask for the items, and tell the crew hanging out there that I’ll be standing there waiting for the items to be brought to me. In less than 1 minute, i got them. So… it could have been done earlier. How hard was it. My whole evening was kinda ruined. My husband said he used to come eat there pretty often with hid colleagues during lunch break, but a little over 3 weeks ago, they stopped going because the service and the food has changed and was no longer as great. I am guessing the crew working today are probably related to the owners with the “I don’t really care because my livelihood doesn’t depend on this job” attitude. They do need more training. A LOT MORE TRAINING. One thing they are excellent at is ruining a person evening. That in itself is quite a feat. PS: on my second visit, the bathroom was nasty and they were out of toilet paper. I guess they were too busy to check that too. Didn’t proofread, so don’t mind...

We decided to try this place out for Cinco de Mayo. The place had about 10 open tables and appeared overstaffed with very young servers. We were the only ones waiting and had a 10 minute wait (2 adults and 2 kids) for a table. The place was very stuffy, cramped, and humid. I couldn't tell if it even HAD air conditioning. They left all the doors to the outside open and there were no fans, so it felt very stale. They had 90s alt rock blaring so loud that I could hardly hear the others aty table.

Even though they had about 15 servers and helpers on staff, they all seemed absolutely overwhelmed by the 15 tables in the restaurant. Our server was polite, but once we received our food, we no longer existed.

Speaking of receiving the food... my son and I had ours in a reasonable amount of time. Mine was wrong. My wife's food took another 15 minutes before it came out. And my youngest, took another 5 after that. The plates came with a tablespoon of beans and 2 tablespoons of rice. The ground beef was overcooked and under-seasoned. The chicken was under-seasoned. The vegetables were charred. The burrito did not spend enough time in the oven to melt more than the outermost layer of cheese.

Although very polite, a very young girl swooped by every 5 minutes to interrupt our dinner and ask us how it was going. We had to ask for extra silverware, extra napkins, any refill, the check, etc. While not super inconvenient, it's nice to have experienced servers who know how to read the table. Our ACTUAL server, we only saw again after he dropped the check off.

This place appeared newer and not quite finished. They hired inexperienced staff, the layout of the restaurant was very uncomfortable, and they were cranking the 90s alt rock so loud we could hardly hear each other. But they brought in...

It's unfortunate I received bad customer service today because my past experience with togo orders were good and I liked the food and was excited to support this business. Today was different I took some family members to dine in today. The dine in wasn't bad besides the first thing brought out was the sizzling fajitas and then all other orders, the last thing brought out was the sides and the tortilla to the fajitas causing the meat to be cold. I could deal with that. Where they went bad was when I made a togo order to bring home to the kids of 2 kids meals enchiladas one with beef one with chicken. When I received the bag I noticed the bag only had one plate. I asked about the order and was told no, they only put in for 2 enchilada sides. I asked them to correct it and because I wanted kids meals. While waiting for the food I then realized she didn't ask about sides, so I asked that they add rice. Because again I'm expecting a kids meal. I received the second bag plus a check. If a business wants to provide good service I wouldn't charge a full price I would honestly provide it with no charge for the confusion. I try to address that with her but she still asked for the ticket price. I now paid for extra food I didn't want and know the kids won't eat all of, but then got home to find she placed my order wrong with cheese (should be beef) and a chicken. My son doesn't like cheese so the food was completely wasted. In all fairness the foods flavor has been good eachtime, but I would suggest being sure they understand what your asking for before...
