PITA Mediterranean Street Food - Canton — Restaurant in Canton

GROSS!!!!!! Once upon a time cuisine at Mediterranean Street Food was palatable. However, Like most fables that start with “Once upon a time” that was in days past. The thought of getting food that is editable at Mediterranean Street Food is a mere fantasy. A disastrous delivery experience (still waiting for the $65 refund we took a long hiatus for their food. Unfortunately a plumbing issue at a far better restaurant and lapse in judgment I found myself at Mediterranean Pita. The best way to sum up this experience is to tell you the only time I felt this miserable was when a muscle head crushed my foot with a 120Lb dumbbell. The new “sandwich” recommended and raved about by staff was completely revolting. If I took a leather belt coated it with rancid mayo and battery acid wrap it up in a pita it would have tasted far better than the gyro. I moved to Canton 2 years ago and Pita has been one of my favorite places to get great tasting, quality, and healthy food items at a good price. But I'm not sure what has happened as of recent, I have been out of town for a while and was craving their spicy chicken pita, which is usually loaded with chicken and has an exquisite flavor profile. Their "spicy" sauce was more of a pepper salsa, and it had loads of flavor and just tied it all together. Well, I went today, and everything was different. They are taking their grilled veggies off the menu, I ordered extra protein and it looked like the regular one, the spicy sauce is now some gross red sauce mixed with a cream sauce they just squirt on top. The chicken was bland and tasted like a grilled chicken patty from McDonald's. I was extremely disappointed in the quality of food this go around. I'm not sure if maybe the supply chain is the issue for some of the ingredients they need, but I will be back in a few months to try it out again but if it's the same I'm not sure I'll be back. HANDS DOWN, the BEST and FRESHEST grilled shrimp Greek salad and red pepper hummus! WOW! This food completely knocked my socks off. I did NOT expect to be so impressed with a small shop in a strip center. I completely spoiled me for any grocery-store look-alikes and most lamely prepared restaurant salads that come with a bowl full of iceberg and a couple of slices of watery/hard tomatoes. The salad was all fresh baby greens with ample feta, very flavorful tomatoes and veggies. The shrimp addition I requested for a topping was NOT frozen/fried, or even cold/boiled. It was all FRESHLY GRILLED to absolute perfection! After gobbling down every salad morsel, I went back in the store for red pepper hummus, and it, too, blew me away. The hummus itself was delicious, and obviously freshly made. The red peppers we not jarred, but tasted freshly made as well. Sure wish they had a store near me!
