Kennedys Lamp Post Tavern — Restaurant in Cape Canaveral

🚨🚨 I was BARRED for no reason🚨🚨

Yeah, you read that correctly.

I walked in to Kennedys to meet up with some friends (6 of us in total) I was stopped by a bartender (I’ve never met before) yelling in front of plenty of patrons on the karaoke side “You can’t be in here” finger pointed and all.. mind you, I’ve been going to this bar for the entire year + that I’ve been living in Cape Canaveral. I and my boyfriend have spent plenty of money here and have made PLENTY of friends and fond memories.

I was absolutely shocked.. in a panic I asked “why??” And she stated “you and you’re boyfriend have been caught vandalizing the bathrooms”

I was absolutely dumbfounded.

Apparently, a bar goer, had STUFFED the toilets with ENTIRE rolls of toilet paper some day(s) or the week prior (uncertain because we weren’t shown proof or told WHEN this happened)

They were hollering at me saying they had video proof of this. I asked to please see the footage and was ordered to leave instead.

I’ve gone up there a few times since, trying to get in touch with a manger or owner to PLEASE fix this issue.. to no avail. Just get yelled at to leave in front of a ton of people yet again. My boyfriend nor I would EVER do this. EVER. It hurts my heart immensely because I LOVED THIS PLACE.. it’s literally on the same road that we live on and we’ve introduced the bar to almost EVERYONE we’ve met here (even though most folks swear against it) and I showed them how fun Kennedys can be.

The proof they claim to have apparently proves by time stamp but that just isn’t the truth. We never did any of this.

We’ve been getting over the loss of our favorite bar and seeing the friends we made there but I can’t kick the thought of the ACTUAL PERSON WHO DID THIS still being in there and singing to their hearts content while we have to take our money elsewhere.

Manager/Owner, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry you lost a fun group of people! Let’s fix this! 💜

Update!! It’s months later and I’m about to move. They still refuse to talk to me and my partner whom they barred. They have told other patrons “when they left the problem stopped” which is just bull.. it’s a tourist town. The guy who did what they ACCUSED US OF will be next year when he gets off his cruise or whatever. However, we will not. I’ll take my 2-star review down to a 1 star.

Thank you for proving that prejudice is still alive and well. If you’re “different looking” you WILL get profiled here. Possibly even banned.. like us 😌

It’s a great set up being half karaoke and half pool/darts.. both sides having a full bar. I don’t think they serve food seeing as though the entire place is a smokers heaven. Prior to my last visit, I really enjoyed the joint.. my last experience here may have turned me off completely. A male bartender with dark hair (unsure of name) was drinking behind the bar continuously.. I wouldn’t have an issue with this until it took 45+ minutes to be given my last round (two beers) and given my check… I had to ask for the beer and my check about 5 times spanning over an hour. It was getting pretty irritating then whilest waiting for my order and check I see the tender take multiple shots…after asking another employee to handle me, even THEY seemed to be slurry and intoxicated.. I started to become slightly aggravated. I’ll most likely come back but the service needs to be handled or I’ll just stay away and tell others they should do the same. I also was given a check faaaaar cheaper than it needed to be due to them not keeping the tab in order.. not really a loss for me but 🤷🏻‍♀️ the establishment may start to feel it if that...

Went there today for my birthday to play some pool. My roommate bought a soda but I asked for ice water. Was very rudely informed it would still cost me $2 as they are a place of business meant to sell stuff. Well they were, they were selling pool tables. But thanks to this very rude bar tender I will not be back and I will actively promote my passengers to go to better local bars that treat customers with respect. I have plenty of suggestions. In the last five years I have given around twenty thousand Rideshare trips… now I will do all I can to redirect our cruise passengers and other tourists to bars that actually give a damn about customer service. You see, I want my passengers to see the best of Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach… I spent my birthday coming to Lamp Post to find out a cup of ice water is all it takes to piss your customers away. As for me, I am gone and I will actively support my passengers to also choose more wisely… enjoy...
