Read moreI rarely, if ever have on google, write reviews but I have some thoughts I need to share. I want to preface I was excited to give this place a try. Normally I would be a bit concerned about quality control on such a large menu, but with these reviews and an allegedly critically acclaimed chef I thought I couldn’t go wrong!
I was sadly mistaken.
The appetizers and butter chicken were decent, but the “sassy chicken cordon bleu” was terrible. Chicken was not stuffed is claimed on the online menu but was instead topped with cheap deli ham and cheese. That feels like a corner cut, but the Mac and cheese that I got as a side was blue box kraft and judging by how mushy the pasta was very old Kraft Mac and cheese. I really wanted to like the place but the cordon bleu was disappointingly bad. All the food was very overpriced for what it was as well.
Something doesn’t add up, the reviews are good, the pictures look good, the websites great, but almost everything about actually eating here was a let down at best and terrible and unsafe at worst. I want to Beleive they’ve just hit a rough patch or I’m a one off, but judging by the other 1 star reviews here and how the owner responds I don’t know.
Please do yourself a favor and skip this one.
EDIT- 1 Week Later I am appalled by the response from the owner. To accuse my review of being fake just because it’s bad is absurd. I would also like to point out the fact that YOU ask at the end of the meal for the customer to review their experience. I have to truly believe you’re delusional if you think that the Mac and cheese I was served gets wiped clean. I have no idea how you have this level of confidence and aggression with your diners. You served me what is truly the worst dinner I have ever had and the biggest waste of 70 dollars...
Read moreI was in town overnight, and I was looking for a locally owned restaurant. Searching maps, I came across The Sassy Spoon. My family and I walked were promptly greeted. After being seated, our waiter took our drink order while we looked over the menu. Our drinks came to the table but no ice in my water. I looked around and noticed that the others that ordered water were lacking ice also. I asked and got ice, lol. My son and I went with the Butter Masala. I ordered mine medium heat, and he went none. He went with the cheese Naan bread, and I got the chili garlic Naan. My wife ordered the Madras and garlic Naan. Our food arrived and smelled tremendous. The flavors and level of spice of my dish were perfect. The chicken was tender, and the Naan helped soak up the remaining sauce on my plate. My son really liked his food but was not too keen on the cheese Naan. He said it had too much cheese. It did appear to have a lot on it. My wife said she liked her dish. Unfortunately, she is not too big on Indian food. I tried hers and loved the flavor of it. I ate what I could of hers but also wanted room for dessert. I went with the Ferrero Rocher cake, my wife with crembrula, and my son with the tempura banana split. All the desserts were very good. My cake was very rich and delicious. A small scoop of ice cream on the side would have added to it. That's just my opinion. The establishment was very clean, and the staff was very attentive. The portions are very good, they will fill your belly. I'm glad I chose this local restaurant they take pride in their cooking, and it shows in...
