My wife and I had dinner here last evening. First the bad.... Although this in no way distinguishes this restaurant from any other modern restaurant, it was loud! There are no sound-absorbing surfaces in their large dining room. The music was turned up so that it could be heard above the din of a full room of diners conversing. Then when people left, it wasn't turned down to compensate. While we didn't exactly have to shout to have a conversation, the sound level was annoying. As for everything else, it was great! I had a special - red snapper on polenta with asparagus and a Spanish pepper sauce, and my wife had pork tenderloin with fingerlings and cauliflower. Both were delicious. Other reviewers have complained that the food was delivered cold. Our entrees were by no means piping hot, but neither were they too cool. The portions were not huge, but IMHO too many restaurants give you enormous portions that you can't (or shouldn't) finish. Our meals left enough room to share a dessert, in this case white chocolate and raspberry cheese cake. Amazingly good! Then there's the issue of drinks. It turns out that Ralph, the owner, is an experienced restauranteur and is passionate about bourbon in particular. I had one of their signature cocktails before dinner - The Empire Strikes Back - made with Redwood Empire bourbon. I had never heard of it, but it was delicious. After dinner, our waitress sent Ralph over to talk about their bourbons. He looks for distilleries that are somewhat out of the mainstream and make a great product at a reasonable price. My wife had the Redwood Empire bourbon and water. I had a High West, made in Utah, on the rocks. Again, a very good choice and one I had never had before. Finally, the cost. While this was by no means a cheap night out, the bill was certainly not out of line with what you would pay at any good restaurant in town for two entrees, four drinks and a dessert. We added a generous tip, as our server was attentive and got us all the information we needed to make our choices. We...
Read moreI was on a short vacation in Cape Coral and discovered this little gem. I wish it was located in my hometown because I am obsessed!! The first night I went in with my cousin on a girls night for an after dinner drink. That turned into about three drinks. The atmosphere is chill vibes and the design is beautiful. The music was throwback 80’s and 90’s that night and I loved it. I had the Rum Fashion and she had the Sageside Tea. The drinks were PHENOMENAL!! It didn’t stop There though. The bartender didn’t just make a good drink, she was sweet and attentive. The manager Jen came over and chatted with us for quite some time. She was lovely. At the end of the night the owner came over and engaged us in conversation about the business and other things. The whole experience was very personal and not business at all. The following night I went back for dinner with my boyfriend and had the same drink because it was so good. Jen came up to the table and greeted me and continued to check on us through the night. Our server (Laura I think) was super sweet. We ate Duck fat fries, Ahi Tuna, Pork Tenderloin, Wagyu Skirt Steak, and Peanut Butter Pie. The food was absolutely amazing. I was supposed to return for a third time for brunch on Sunday but circumstances prevented me from doing so which bummed me out because they have live music brunch, but I hope to return and try it out sometime. Regardless, I know this will be a place I will return to anytime I am in that area. It’s definitely my favorite spot in an area loaded with bars and restaurants. Thanks Sage on 47th for making me...
Read moreEdited 1/31/25- Stone was our server and he was great. Knowledgeable and attentive. Our table had the salmon special, carbonara, and skirt steak. Everything was absolutely delicious. See you again
Edited 4/7- wife and I tried the wagu skirt steak sandwich for brunch. We had already eaten elsewhere and wish we hadn’t. Skirt steak soft as tenderloin, perfect runny egg and homemade hash brown hash with peppers and onion and well everything was spot and in flavor. They impressed us again and you must try.
First time in and not our last. Bartenders Andrew and Joey were great. Knowledgeable and attentive. Met the owner and chef. Very friendly, casual and decades of experience. Started with the mushroom app which I forgot to take a pic. Mushrooms you won’t get at most markets. They are blanketed by a savory crepe and a dollop of goat cheese. I’m missing ingredient’s but it’s great. Second app was the lamb tartare. Lemon and capers and a sous vide egg and just great quality and great flavor. Third app was the charred oysters. Nice size and good but, for me, missing the butter and garlic and darker char. Last but not least the lamb burger. Medium rare, pancetta, smoked Gouda cheese. Fantastic! Last words… do not feel like you are underdressed. The environment and staff make it very causal and it will be well...
