Well, I’m not one to post disparaging reviews however, I’m hoping this was an anomaly as our experience was one of the worst I’ve ever had. Wife and I were at the Tree Lighting festival and the smell of pizza drew us in. Within walking in, I was told ‘no’ about 3-4 times in trying to get to the open bar seats. They weren’t ‘no’ with an offered reason but abrupt and hostile in nature. We finally got seated and were finally offered an explanation of why we couldn’t sit at the bar. We were served and started to order pizza which we were instantly told that pizza was for takeout only that night because of the Festival. The host insisted he told us, but I completely disagree because it was more important to tell me no and where I could sit. Ended up ordering garlic knots and Chicken Parm. I was disappointed in both. The garlic knots seemed like dinner rolls with olive oil and Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top and the chicken’s breading was soggy and seemed like it was prepared hours previously. The sauce on the pasta was tasty and that’s all I can say was positive. Like I said, I’m hoping this is an anomaly, but I will probably never eat there again and will certainly pass on this experience to our friends. Hoping the restaurant sees this and makes some...
Read moreI’m normally very happy with this place but the last 2 times not so much. Last week I got the chicken Marsala over pasta and the portion was a toddler size at best. One small very thin chicken cutlet size. Maybe 4oz of chicken and the pasta was also very minimal. I’m a 125lb woman, and I eat twice the portion-size they dished out. Compared to other restaurants, the portions are way too small. Then lastnight I ordered a Sicilian style pizza and a large round with ROASTED red peppers and mushrooms like I always get. I understand I was ordering in the midst of the Friday night rush but I was very clear in my order. What I got was an undercooked Sicilian style and on the round I got regular red peppers instead and not my usual roasted red peppers,.. and they were mushy and just tossed on top of the cheese). The food tasted rushed..The Dough on the round even had a funny taste and wasn’t good like it normally is. I’m going to give them another chance because they are usually great,.. and then I’ll update my review if there is any change. I’ve gotten pizza and dinners from there since they opened. I feel like they might still be recovering from the hurricane but they shouldn’t be cutting corners...
Read moreWe have been eating here since the restaurant opened 19 years ago. Originally it was on Pine Island Road and that is where we found them. Now they are on Cape Parkway. Their food and service has always been excellent. My son and his family visited from California and he remembered the restaurant. We went tonight and had a wonderful dinner. We had Arancini, Calamari, Caponata, Spiedini and fried Mozzarella sticks for appetizers. (There were 8 of us) We had fresh Italian bread and very fresh, cold salads. Dinner ranged from Sicilian pizza, linguini with mussels and clams in white sauce, eggplant rollotini, homemade gnocchi with either marinara or Bolognese sauce and cavatelli in a light Alfredo sauce with chicken, mushrooms, and artichoke hearts. Dessert was cannolis and Lemoncello cake. Everyone was served each course at the same time. The food was delicious and hot when it should have been and cold when it should have been. The food was delicious. The wait staff was quick and friendly. I highly recommend for great food in a casual atmosphere. Their pizza is as close to New York pizza as you can...
