I get it. My first visit to Cape May. And coming from Delaware and knowing the beach mentality (will never run out of people coming for vacation ) service and attitudes can be, well, not caring. Doesn't make it right, but just people don't get hospitality. Now in regards to our visit, my girlfriend and I like to go multiple locations to get a feel for the area. And twice we ended up at Delaney's. Friday and Saturday night, off season. To start a "Cheers" to Norman (Norm) our bartender, yes we sat at the bar. All around a great guy to talk to. Food, appetizer was the smoked salmon which caught us off guard. Expecting bagel salmon we got a salmon filet with great flavor profile. Owners, please don't cheapin it with a bag cracker. Change the plate presentation with a nice toasted bread with maybe a little garlic. In fact my girlfriend ordered it that way and made it her dinner, because I killed the first one. Again, great product, tweak the presentation. For my dinner I had the Ruben with corned beef from New Yorks Carnage Deli. Best corned beef I've had. Very tasty sandwich, however, a bag of chips as the side. Which seems to be a thing we saw in a couple of restaurants we went to. Owners, please don't cheapin it. Last the raw oysters. Amazing. Fresh no fishy taste. A great salty brine flavor and big. Over all good place to chill. A note to the owners and others in this industry, consumers are now more than ever, looking to pay for quality not quantity. They see value with what they pay and what they get. Their not saying " how cheap can I get it, or where's my coupon " that is slowly dieing from a part of the industry that ruined the hospitality industry with deals and dollar valued dinning. Be better than chain restaurants. The value the guest gets is in your product you serve by people who truly know what hospitality is. It's not thr service you give, it's the feeling you give. BTW Norman was very hospitable. Thanks again and hope to see you...

We had high hopes for this place judging by the atmosphere, but unfortunately, it fell far short. Right off the bat, the menu prices were shocking for what we received. They charged $8 for basic tater tots that were worse than what you'd find in a frozen Walmart bag. To top it off, we found a couple of frozen French fries at the bottom of the basket. The cheese sauce served with the tots came out cold and tasted artificial—completely unappetizing.
The biggest letdown was the food quality. A $17 bacon cheeseburger arrived completely raw, which is not only disappointing but also unsafe. My lady ordered a cheese pizza, and somehow, the dough was undercooked despite being so thin it had a cracker-like texture. I’m not sure how that’s even possible.
When we brought this to the waitress’s attention, she was polite but seemed indifferent and didn’t take any real action—no manager, no apology. I had to specifically ask to have the raw burger removed from our bill, which she did, but the overall experience still left a bad taste.
At the end of it all, we spent $70 for cheap, low-quality frozen food. The only redeeming item was the onion rings—they were fantastic—but it’s not enough to bring us back. This place has potential because the atmosphere is nice, especially if you’re just grabbing a drink, but they seriously need to improve the food quality and...
Read moreAvoid. This place is basically IHOP food. The service is dreadful. The food is lousy and the drinks were very weak. Two of us ordered prime rib same way. One came out decently cooked the other was ice cold including veggies. Waiter no where to be found, finally asked the host if they could help he rudely advised only one to help was the waiter and he was busy. Another 10 minutes passed before we caught his attention. The waiter picked up the plate and left. The rest of my group have eaten at this stage. 25 minutes later the waiter returns with plate no veggies and a piece of meat that had to have been microwaved for 10 mins. I could barely cut it and it was actually hard inside from being microwaved. If this is the way a chef sorry a cook treats a customer I would be wary of eating anything else. Asked to see the manager as we were still being charged for this rock of meat. I advised how inedible it was and she goes sorry not sure why chef microwaved it so long. Seems a common practice. Needless to say I had to grab a bite elsewhere. The staff were not trained, the manager seemed clueless. There are so many other good choices, I would not recommend ever eating here. I would give less than a star. Looking around a clue was the dirty floors and menus. They dont care about repeat business or anything it seems but a quick...
