Really wanted to like this place but I came hungry and unfortunately left with no appetite. Was here with a small group of friends for brunch and the service right out the gate was okay(ish). We placed our orders and were very excited when it came out but it was all down hill from there. When I was handed my quesadilla I noticed a long black hair on the plate (gross but not the end of the world). I tried to remove it from the plate only to find it was baked into the cheese! So I told the server about the hair and his immediate response was "well I didn't cook the food so what do you want from me?" I was completely taken a back by just how rudely he responded. He wound up taking it back to be remade after I had to ask. He came back a couple minutes later (which should have tipped me off because of how long it took us to get our food the first time) with a "fresh" quesadilla. The food was hot but definitely not as crispy as the first one but I was so hungry at this point I just started to eat it. I got through one full triangle and half way through the second when I noticed it. Another hair! This time it was so mixed in I could barely pull on it. Obviously disgusted I waited for the waitress to come over and I told her and she was visibly (and audibly) annoyed. I don't know for sure but the odds of there being hair in two different orders seems highly unlikely. Plus the speed at which it came out makes me think it was the same quesadilla just reheated. The whole situation was absolutely unacceptable and like I said completely spoiled mine and my friends appetites. The waitress was annoyed when she told us the restaurant comped my meal and the manager didn't offer any type of apology for the gross negligence of the kitchen staff nor the rude behavior of the servers. Read moreWe had a wonderful first visit to Ocean 7 and will absolutely be returning. The restaurant is family friendly and incredibly accommodating when our kids were famished, the staff quickly brought out bread to tide them over without us even needing to ask. Thoughtful touches like that go a long way.
As someone who has to eat gluten free, I was thrilled to find that Ocean 7 is the only spot in Cape May offering gluten free crab cakes and not just any crab cakes. These were some of the best I've had anywhere: mostly lump crab, beautifully seasoned, and full of flavor. Highly recommend them if you’re GF and craving something special.
My husband tried the char grilled cobia, a fish we’d never had before. While he wasn’t a fan of the texture, it reminded him more of salmon than a typical white fish, he did appreciate the preparation and really enjoyed the flavors of the dish.
One of our sons ordered the pretzels with crab dip and couldn’t stop raving about them. They were the highlight of his night!
Service throughout the meal was warm, attentive, and efficient. Ocean 7 delivered a lovely dining experience for the whole family, and we’re already looking forward to...
Read moreOkay, so where does one start?? Whom ever bought the most nostalgic Inn of Cape May.. You've ruined it! We ate at the now Ocean 7 and what a huge disappointment. It's Labor day about 9am, only 1 family with 2 children besides my Wife and I and the hits kept on coming.. 1st off, the menu is destroyed. My Wife goes to order Blueberry scone, no more left and then the quiche none either, so She settled for the chocolate croissant, it was subpar at the best. I ordered the lobster Benedict .. What🧐 Roasted potatoes ice cold, fresh avocado, the one you usually throw away when you buy it because it's hard at the stem and the English muffin, not toasted.. C'mon I can't make this up, no one here and the worst breakfast we spent 40 bucks on.. My Wife and I will never come back and never mind staying here, after reading the reviews would not even attempt it.. What a Bummer with once was a really beautiful place with off the hook breakfast, (remember when) ..lol (stuffed French toast w/ marscapone cheese) All Gone to modernized... Why??? Cape May is getting ruined, one...
