dani o bakeshop — Restaurant in Capitola

Can’t fairly rate the food because we weren’t able to taste it. We are a social group of “women of a certain age”. We plan outings where we can meet, have a meal and enjoy some good conversation. Several of us have wanted to try Dani O because of their great reputation for baked goods. A couple of us had dropped by the mall a couple of times and found the place deserted. A couple of weeks ago I contacted the mall, who put Dani in touch with me. I asked about her shop hours; she assured me that she was returning to regular hours. I told her we were planning to bring a group on Nov 7 around 10a - she assured me they would be open. Our group arrived, and Dani O was closed. There was an employee there. We asked if they were open. They said “Our hours are 9a-noon, Wed-Sun. It was 10a on a Friday yet they were not open for business. We were puzzled and confused, especially when the employee stated hours and they should have been open. This could have turned into a regular meeting place for us and a boost in business but were not going to risk asking our members to meet at a business that can’t decide whether they want to be in...

Dani O makes dangerously decadent pastries, and because they use high quality ingredients you almost don’t feel bad about the amount of butter in the croissants. I’m honestly surprised the croissants don’t melt when you pick them up because they have to be 50% butter.
