Taco Bell — Restaurant in Carlsbad

It's Taco Bell. Not terrible, but I order with the Taco Bell app and they get it right about 95% of the time. That's pretty good for a fast food restaurant that one of the managers told me goes through their entire work crew every 2 weeks. I was surprised to hear that. Must be a full time job just to keep hiring people. I guess they get their first paycheck and just never come back. As an oil boom town, this type of situation is only going to get worse. Just ask anyone who was in Midland TX during a boom. In some places when I was there in 2014, nobody showing up for work was common. This will inevitably happen here as the boom goes on. Minimum starting wages are already at $10 an hour. In Midland, they were $14 everywhere. Prices go up for everything, especially housing, and getting decent service anywhere will become a challenge. If you go into Taco Bell and order, expect a wait. Better yet, download the app, place your order with that, then drive over. My order is usually waiting and they get it right consistently. The one at south end of Carlsbad SUCKS! There is nothing fast about ordering on line, leaving home,and standing in store for good 20 minutes and finally accepting a refund! They gave us the food anyway but it wasn't right! I was mad and got a bit loud! I order on line for the sole purpose of NOT standing in line, I'm disabled. I understand it's not all the workers fault, management won't hire enough help. But when someone is telling you they have massive orders and some are just casually walking around, something is WRONG! Also chips tasted terrible! I rarely give this bad of a review! I'm old, Taco Bell had some of the best food when I was in college in the 1970s! Not so much preservatives or something effected the flavor seriously! The beefy tostada was the best on the menu! We were there at least twice a day! Every time I visit this establishment, the employees manage to ruin my appetite. My last encounter, they had a teenage girl working the register, whom of which SO obviously didn't want to be there. She let her male peers cut in front of everyone in line for free drinks, and threw my receipt in the trash when she was paying more attention to the boys and I watched as everyone that was behind me in line got their food. After having to reorder, I had still only received half of my order. The only decent person there is (who I assume is) the manager. Whenever one of his employees isn't doing well, he sends them home and he has always remade my order himself. What a sweet man. Too bad his employees can't get...
