Brockway Pub — Restaurant in Carmel

Purchased a gift certificate via Fox59 to try the place out as a family [myself, wife, 22 y/o daughter & 19 y/o son]. Felt it was unique in its decor & layout compared to other options around. It was seat yourselves and we probably should have chosen a larger table for our group of 4, but we liked the character of our little booth and stools that was just off of the bar. Our server was very pleasant and attentive, quickly finding the answers to our questions such as if Smithwick's was included in the daily pint special (it was). We found the music selection peculiar, or at least not committed to the Irish vibe. Assume it appeals to some demographic, maybe younger, but not my wife and I so much. Daughter knew the music, but she said we heard the same song twice apparently within the hour+ that we were there.

Sampled the fish bites, eggs, and pickle chips appetizers. Egg option was unique, son liked it a lot although not sure I personally would order again. Pickle chips were pretty good, we would consider them on a future visit. Fish was fine, although I assume it was just a 'nugget' version of the standard fish & chips. Probably wouldn't do it again.

Daughter ordered chicken sandwich with dublin chips. She enjoyed the sandwich and really liked her cheesy chips. Son went with Reuben and fries. Thought fries were OK, sandwich was good but probably preferred the Reuben at Muldoon's. Wife and I each did the fish wrap, she with the plain chips and me with the fries. Both enjoyed the wrap with its grilled cod and would do it again. Also both preferred the chips she ordered, but felt they needed a bit more seasoning or flavor.

Very much appreciated the happy hour & daily specials on a Monday [1/2 off appetizers, $4 or $5 (?) pints, $8 handhelds]. Would definitely entertain a return for the same specials offers. Son likes Premiere League and is very interested in returning for future...

Non-existent service. Our first time there and we will not be back. After standing inside the door awkwardly for a few minutes being passed by several employees (we didn't see any signs indicating to seat yourself), a bartender finally told us to sit anywhere we liked. We sat down in plain view but nobody came over to wait on us for a full 10 minutes. Finally, we flagged down a server. She did apologize, at least. Sensing that this was going to be a trend, we ordered drinks and food all at the same time. The food was very average -- nothing to write home about. The salt and vinegar chips were good (note: they're actually chips, not fries like most English/Irish-styled pubs). Good selection of beers. But the entire time there, we saw our server twice. She never came to check on us and never gave us a chance to order more beer. And I didn't see her help the tables next to us, either. Unbelievable. This pub was full, but not busting at the seams. Get a clue Brockway: you should never let patrons sit with empty beer glasses for that long. If you want repeat business, you have to actually wait on your customers. They may actually want more beer. Next time, it will be somewhere...

I had never been to this place before. I love to hear live bands. I was invited. So the Friday night that I went I was excited. when I ordered some French fries food they were good. Then I decided to get a sandwich. It took an unusually excessive time. I thought they forgot. Then it came. it was burnt . I could see the burnt meat hanging from under the bun. When I say there is NO WAY I WOULD HAVE BROUGHT IT OUT THE KITCHEN!!! I would have said the stove broke. So I called the establishment several days later (6) and ask to speak to the manger because I noticed some had increased the purchase an amounts and added TIPS!' Are you kidding me??????? So I decided to call the manager when they opened. So Scott, Sean I told him the issue and he refunded the additional that was added without my consent but not for the burned sandwich ! when I lifted the top bun the breading from the sandwich was bonded onto it.
