Disgusting. Absolutely vile. I'm not even sure where to start with the nightmare that is La Hacienda. First, absolutely blasting meriachi outside at levels only appropriate for heavy metal. Inside could only be described as 1960's technicolor Mexican kitsch. I'm not sure how this place has the rating it does, I could tell you this place wouldn't last a week down south. There is really no competition for La Hacienda in Carmel, and I'm sure that's a big part of the problem. The food was, in a word, gross. I can promise you the enchilada sauce is Old El Paso from a can. The beef was not seasoned at all, not even with salt and pepper. The tortillas were packaged Old Mission. If the salsa IS homemade, which I sincerely doubt, they would've actually been better off with El Paso. Absolutely everything from this place was pre-packaged and frozen...and you can really tell. Their highly touted Chili Releno was inedible. The taste and texture was that of being reheated leftovers. What made us leave though, with only a few bites taken, was the state of the bathrooms. I've seen cleaner restrooms at a cock-fighting arena...in...Kolkata...the poor section, on New Years day during a soccer riot. It wreaked, the toilet was clogged and there was toilet paper everywhere. Any restaurant willing to let that happen where the customer can see, really makes you afraid of what we cannot see. (Also, how could employees wash their hands in a restroom like that?) We left immediately, and we will never be back. I just hope to God I'm not sick tomorrow. Upon bringing this to the manager's attention, we were told the health department passed them. (They might need...
Read moreMy husband and kids love this place. It is reasonably priced, close to home, and kid friendly. They are always very kind there. I love their fajitas, and they don't blink when my daughter and I say we will share one fajita. My daughter (who is in college now) loves the fried ice cream. We order one fajita just to save room for the ice cream. I love the margaritas.
For those who says there are no veggies, first, the menu says exactly what you get. Second, if you want veggies, salad, guac, or anything else, you only have to ask. I love the free tortilla chips and salsa. We've been coming here for 9 years or so, and we have never had a complaint. If we did, I know it would be taken care of.
I have lived around the world, and Taco Bell is not mexican, no matter what it says. I have been to Mexico and Spain, as well as other places. They don't eat food like Taco Bell. If you want to eat Mexican food, eat where the Mexicans work and eat. If you don't like it, Mexican food might not be for you. As for me, I have been to the above, plus France, England, Ireland, Scotland, Belgium, Germany, and Italy. We eat where the locals eat. We love you,...
Read moreThis has been our favorite Mexican place since moving here to Fishers in Jan 2023, eating there 1-2 times a more a month. Our favorite has alway been the Del Mar Burrito & quesadilla. After today we won't be back. The dish's was made with raw green peppers & onions the tomatoes were large chopped with the cores in them. I bet there were 7 cores in my burrito. But the three major things is there wasn't hardly any seafood in our dishes, mostly huge tomato's and green pepper. There also wasn't but a smidge of cheese sauce on the burrito and none at all on rice. When I asked them to add more cheese sauce they bought out a tiny to go sauce and charged us $6.50 extra. There margarita’s have gone down hill to, I like just a hint of a taste of tequila, I’d bet ours were virgin ones, tasted like lime water. Plus I got sick to my stomach, before we left the table. Beware the Food, cooking standards and service has nose dived at this place.
On the hunt for a new fav....
