Food was good, SERVER not service was extremely disappointing

Let me first start by saying their food was actually good, like any other Applebee’s. But the server me and my coworkers got was a pure petty individual. First when we sat down, I didn’t notice this but one of my coworkers did, our waiter (not sure of his name because I forgot the receipt at the restaurant, but he was a dark-skinned gentleman with long dreadlocks) he had a very nonchalant attitude and monotoned voice. Which I thought was nothing until he began acting as though he wanted us to leave once, we were done with our food. And when he spoke to the elderly Caucasian people, he had a completely different attitude. It was more upbeat and charming. I honestly feel as though because me and my coworker were black, he thought we weren’t going to tip. And to make matters worse when we asked for a to go drink, he brought us back a KIDS CUP full of ice and an inch of lemonade. And I’m not even being dramatic me and my coworker poured the ice out (because we couldn’t even insert a straw into the drink) to discover he literally put all ice in the cup. I am only writing this review because little Miss petty queen (AKA our waiter) decided to write himself a $3 tip on my card. Because my total was only $19 and some change but on my bank statement its $23. And just based off his character I know he would do something petty like give himself 3 little bucks. I was going to leave him a cash tip but after the way he acted the whole time we were there, and I saw how he was discriminating against us (his own race sadly) I decided he deserved NO tip. I could waste my time calling Applebee’s and telling them their employing gave himself a tip, but I rather write this review to warn others of this one particular waiter. We went to this establishment with all hopes and intentions of spending some family time and celebrating my husband coming home from a deployment, that was quickly ruined. We got there and were greeted and offered to sit or we could wait about 20 min for the only party booth. After deliberation we opted to take a booth and add a table after realizing it was a bit of an inconvenience we requested that once the party booth be cleared if it was possible to be changed there. The hostess in the front agreed. (And yet we never were offered the opportunity to change to that party booth). After about a 25 min wait we asked if it was possible to at least get our drinks while we waited for the table. Our waiter had failed to come greet us once she did she immediately had an overwhelming attitude and said “wow I guess I need more of everything since there’s so many of you” with a very snobby attitude. Which immediately changed the entire atmosphere she continued to have an attitude we approached one of the managers with no better of a response. It was just very dissatisfying and frustrating that what was suppose to be a special event was ruined and it took us an extremely long time to bring anything food and drinks and half the party was so upset we didn’t even order a thing and the most irritating aspect was we never at the least even acknowledged with something as little...

We were here at 3:45 on a Saturday afternoon. Very few patrons were in the restaurant. Several minutes passed before anyone came to the hostess desk to greet us and seat us. (So long, we almost left.) Once we were seated it was 10 minutes before anyone took our drink order. Once again, we contemplated leaving because it took so long to get our drinks. We were given menus and our drinks, then waited another 15 minutes before our waiter came back to take our order. We ordered appetizers, and 2 entrees that came with a side salad. Then went ahead and ordered another drink because it took so long to get the first one. Needless to say, we never got our appetizers. Our food came first. If you look in the picture below, you will see the long black hair that was in my potatoes (and hanging off the plate) and my husband's steak was so chewy he had to spit it out. When my husband said just give me my check, this is unacceptable, the waiter came back and said we aren't going to charge you for the side salad. BUT, there were 4 beverages that we were being charged for and we had only had 2. Our drinks were sitting out on the bar, we had been charged, but they had not been brought to our table. Our waiter had the nerve to ask if we wanted them?! I will never, ever step foot in Applebees again. No manager ever came out to apologize . Bad business practices...
