Big Chic — Restaurant in Carrollton

So this isn't an easy honest review to write. I've been eating Big Chic at this location for more than a decade ,not even sure when I started going there. Things were going downhill before the pandemic hit. Currently it's hit or miss. Some days the chicken is as I'm used to.. tasty, crisp on the outside and juicy inside. Some visits it's dry enough to sop up Lake Carroll and still be stringy and taste like the Sahara. Service is all over the place too. I used to always be greeted by a smile and was served promptly. Now half the time the person at the window is rude, and don't think they fill your order in the order it was received. As another review mentioned I've ordered and had 10 people get their food before me. This is for the same 2-3 piece chicken meal everyone else received.

The place is popular and continues to be busy. But I can't give it a positive rating like I would some time ago because there's no consistency. If you catch them on a good day, you'll love it. Any other day and you'll see what I mean. I'll continue to patronize them on occasion when I get the deep fried urge. First, the young lady who served us at the counter was awesome. (I don't know her name, but she's going to college in January for special education). She noticed I used a walker and my dad was on oxygen so she told us to sit at the tables and she'd bring our food instead of us having to stand up and wait for it. The potions are huge, food is fresh! Prices were decent for what you get. Chicken livers were awesome. Sweet tea was good. Fried chicken and shrimp both very good but the flounder was just average. Fries and potato salad both tasty and the fried strawberry cream cheese pie was on point!! Main downfalls: they were out of the fried peach pie and the picnic tables weren't very easy for a disabled individual to access. UPDATE 2/23/23 Went to get some chicken and fish with my husband and been back a few times since the last review and the food has definitely been way better, Staff here is friendly and the service is fast and the food was fresh , I know all places have bad days so good job big chick on clearing up that bad day for us.

Worst experience ever today Sept 30th 2021 ordered a 3 piece all white , gizzard dinner with 2 fresh sqeezed lemonades get home 2 min down the road food is old taste burnt and not even warm much less hot , tried to call their location but never got an answer couldn't stop by cause I was on my way to work over all this location has fallen so far down hill I don't believe I will eat there again, so sad cause I always loved big chick but there's no love in how they cook and...
