Very disappointed after my recent visit. My first visit a month ago was great. During my first visit i didn’t like the Garlic butter so the waiter we had named Alex brought us regular butter. The second visit two weeks ago, I had a different waiter which told me they didn’t have regular butter. That they only serve Garlic Butter. Dont get me wrong, the garlic butter is good but it can be over powering on top of the seasoning from the crab legs. I seen Alex and hoped by asking him about regular butter and he brought it within minutes!!! Today was my third visit;I asked a random waiter and he said the same thing. They don’t have “regular butter”. So there’s issue 1. When i mentioned that my past two visit that the waiter ALEX literally said he melted the butter for me. He still said no and said AGAIN they didn’t have regular butter. He said they either give you the garlic butter and if you want “butter” they would (scrape) just get the butter from the top of the pot of garlic butter as it wouldn’t contain the seasonings. Extremely hard to believe because you need butter in order to make Garlic butter. I just let it go and ate my food. The waitress I had today couldn’t remember what we ordered. She brought fries first and told my niece “I couldn’t remember if you ordered 9 potatoes”. She didn’t! My niece didn’t ask for potatoes at all. I assumed she was new because she kept mixing up stuff like bringing limes instead of lemons so i let that go. When it was time to pay, i noticed a price difference on the Margarita and the crawfish. I didn’t dispute it because at the point i was just frustrated from the butter situation. On the menu, it’s states margaritas are $8.95. On the receipt it’s said $9.00. On the chalkboard in the restaurant where the prices for boiled food are displayed says 1 pound of crawfish are $9.00. I was charged with $10.00. Although the food is great, unfortunately that will be my last visit. I think the manager was there(Man that drives a white acura, similar to a corvette) I hope he sees this review. The waitress I had never checked on my table. She wasn’t even the one to bring the check. Anyone’s who see’s this, I suggest you dispute any discrepancies and request to have Alex as your waiter. He’s awesome and...
Read moreI have been up north for the last three years and the only crawfish that I come across has been from China and has been frozen so I was jonesin' for some southern, cajun style crawfish. I Googled "cajun food close to me" and The Crab Station was like the third or fourth option and I checked out their menu and I was intrigued. BTW, I had trouble finding it in that huge complex with so many small businesses so as a "heads up", the Crab Station faces Denton road and is almost directly across the street from Chik-Filet. I sat at the bar and was promptly given a menu and I got one of the crafted draft beers. I choose the Lemon flavored one and it is easily the best craft beer I have ever tasted....not heavy, kinda sweet but with a kick....I had two of them! LOL! I knew that crawfish was out of season but my waiter told me that they had frozen crawfish and that it was a popular seller. I noticed one other table of four eating crawfish as well so I ordered it with medium spice, corn and potatoes. I had my food in less than ten minutes and it was VERY good.
The spices were incredible, very cajun. It was not too hot but nor was it bland by any means. I ordered and paid for two pounds but I actually got closer to three. Now, frozen isn't as good as fresh "in season" crawfish but it was definitely close enough for me. The majority of the crawfish were huge with meat in the claws as well. This place gets 5 stars only because that's as high as the rating system goes.. The staff was very friendly and very...
Read moreSo disappointed. We just ordered delivery via Doordash and almost the whole order was horrible.
We ordered 2 Mix & Match platters - one with catfish, oysters and sweet potato fries, the other with double catfish and regular french fries. Both types of fries were soggy, rubbery and cold while the catfish was somehow both over cooked and still soggy. The batter on the fish was flavorless, but once I peeled it all off the actual fish was ok. The fried oysters were also soggy and tasteless, but at least not over cooked
We also ordered the "Blackened Catfish a Ritz, which was average but edible. My sister did that the dirty rice was pretty good.
The hush puppies are tiny, tasteless and dry.
The worst of everything though was the fried "Killer Calamari". When I opened the box I couldn't even tell what it was. It was so over fried that the coating was dark brown. Once I took a bite I could guess that it was calamari but it was dry and tough, like leather. None of us could eat any of it - the whole thing went into the trash.
To be fair we did get the "Bangin Boudin Balls" and they were delicious - the one highlight of the meal.
This was not a delivery issue, it was a cooking issue. I think that if we were sitting in the restaurant they would never have served us food so badly prepared. This means that they just didn't care because what could we do once the food...
