On 3-8-25 we whent to the Carson City Squeeze In. It was our first visit to any Squeeze In. The food was average. The service was also average. The waitress was nice, professional and attentive enough, but my husbands order was incorrect. He had ordered the biscuits and gravy meal but he asked that the biscuits be replaced for spuds. He ended up getting the biscuits and not the spuds he requested. So I told the waitress and she blamed it on the cook. He told the waitress to not worry about the spuds because he had started eating his food and it wasn't a big deal. But the waitress brought a serving of spuds to him anyways, placed them on the table and walked away. Today (3-14-25), I was looking over my receipt and noticed that we were charged for a serving of spuds with cheese seperate from his order of biscuits and gravy. First of all, my husband had no cheese on his spuds. Second, my husband told her not to worry about the spuds. Third, she took it upon herself to give my husband spuds after he told her not to wory about it. Fourth, we were charged for the spuds (that had no cheese) and the spuds my husband said he didnt need. My husband should have been asked if he wanted a new plate of food, or he should have been asked if he wanted a serving of spuds (that he would be charged for). If I had known this before leaving the restaurant, I would have said something but like I said earlier, I didn't know untill today about the charge error. It's not the price of the spuds that bothers me because they were only $1.49, but it is the fact that there was an error (on the restaurant's part) and we ended up paying for that error to be fixed. We should have not been charged for something that should have been on the plate to begin with. As a customer we should have been given a discount of free potatoes. This is why I gave this place...
Read moreDuring this pandemic my wife and I have chosen to "take out" food from the Carson City Squeeze-Inn which we used to do regularly. Last Saturday morning I ordered an omelet to go, for my wife and I to share. I ordered by phone, as usual, and went to pick up the order in about 20 minutes also as usual. When I went to pay the bill the hostess (Kassandra, I think) informed me that there would be a 15% tip added to the bill. (She did not tell me this over the phone) I asked if all the other "dine in" patrons were also subjected to the mandatory 15% tip. She said "no". I asked if they have the option of leaving a tip or not? She said "yes" I asked "Then why me"? . Her response was "it was company policy" When I told her I did not think that was fair. Her response was that she would be happy to cancel my order. I told her that would not be necessary and I would like to speak with the manager. When I spoke to the manager, a young Asian woman, she also told me again that it was company policy and if I didn't like it she to could also cancel my order. So for the sake of a 15% tip and a snooty attitude, they lost a regular customer. The owners of the Squeeze Inn should know that their regular customers sustain their business especially in the coming winter months. There "company policies" need revision or they might lose even more...
Read moreWas looking for a good place to have breakfast on Good Friday. Not sure I could have chosen a better place than SQUEEZE IN for a few reasons... First of all, it's like the restaurant has 2 personalities... OUTSIDE: has a very nice clean patio like area with 3 or 4 tables. This area is elevated above the street level and faces east and the rising morning sun.
INSIDE: is very colourful & kitchy with plenty of room and interesting decor.
But, my focus here is on the food. As it should be... This place does things absolutely right when it comes to food. From stuffing my omelette packed full of fried mushrooms, crispy bacon, shredded American cheese, with a fresh pico as well as perfectly sliced & ripened avocado on top to the savoury mushroom sauce that could have been used as a dressing for my pan fried potatoes or a topping for the sourdough toast. I saw some other amazing looking items on the menu so it took me awhile to decide which is unusual for me when choosing a breakfast. The service here was also top notch and each of the staff members on shift was diligently taking care of business. The one drawback was a lack of coffee items. Otherwise, everything else was hard to beat as far as breakfast businesses go...
Bottom Line: ...
