I really wanted to like Tandoori Table. It’s one of the few Indian restaurants in the Cartersville area, and I came in genuinely excited for some flavorful, comforting Indian food. Unfortunately, the food just didn’t deliver, and it’s hard to ignore that when it’s the whole reason you come to a place like this.
Let’s start with the positives: the service here is actually very good. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being overbearing. They check on you at the right times, refill drinks quickly, and genuinely seem to care about making sure you’re comfortable. If I were just rating the service, it would easily be a four or even five-star experience. You can tell the people running the floor take pride in their hospitality, and that counts for a lot.
The atmosphere is… fine. Nothing fancy or modern, but it’s clean and relatively calm. The decor is simple — a few cultural touches here and there, but it doesn’t really transport you anywhere or feel particularly cozy. The lighting and layout make it more of a casual lunch spot than a dinner destination. It’s the kind of place you’d be okay eating in, but not necessarily somewhere you’d bring a date or go for a special night out.
Now for the hard truth — the food. This is where everything starts to fall apart. For a place named Tandoori Table, you’d expect the tandoori dishes to be front and center, full of smoky, spicy depth and vibrant seasoning. Instead, the flavors felt watered down, like everything was made to play it safe for a crowd that might not like strong spices. The chicken tikka masala was bland and overly creamy, missing the punch of tomato, garlic, and spice that makes it great. The butter chicken tasted more like sweet tomato soup with chicken tossed in.
The naan bread was okay — soft but not the fresh, bubbly, charred kind you get right out of a tandoor oven. The rice was fine, but again, nothing that stood out. I also noticed some inconsistency: one dish came out piping hot while another felt like it had been sitting for a few minutes too long. The food presentation looked average, like they were trying, but it lacked that “wow” factor.
To be clear, nothing tasted bad — it was just disappointingly average. It’s not the kind of food that offends you; it’s the kind that leaves you thinking, “That could’ve been so much better.” For the prices they charge, you expect food that’s at least flavorful or authentic enough to make you want to come back. Unfortunately, I left feeling full but not satisfied, which is the worst kind of meal.
Overall, Tandoori Table has potential, but it feels like it’s playing things too safe. The service and staff clearly care, but the kitchen seems to be holding back on what could make this place stand out. If they improved their seasoning, freshness, and attention to detail in the food, this could easily be a four-star restaurant. Right now, though, it’s just not there.
I’d come back if I heard the recipes or chef changed, but as it stands, this is more of a “one and done” kind of...
Read moreWe love Indian food and are not easily impressed. This unassuming restaurant is a gem hiding in plain sight!
We started with 2 orders of samosas; chicken and veggie. While most restaurants serve samosas that are prepackaged and frozen, these had the most perfect texture and I can only imagine they were made from scratch. The pleasantly delicate crunch was the perfect complement to the deliciously soft filling.
For our main courses, we had garlic naan, chili naan, the butter chicken and the tandoori biriyani chicken. Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked and delectable! I can say that their blend of spices is delightfully different from other restaurants we’ve tried. Just as good, but a pleasant detour from...
Read moreOmg, The best food in town..The chilli shrimp was a standout appetizer with a well-balanced blend of heat and flavor. The shrimp were plump, cooked perfectly—tender on the inside with a slight crisp on the outside. The sauce was tangy with a mild to medium spice level, enhanced by garlic, ginger, and a subtle sweetness that didn’t overpower the dish. Presentation was clean and appetizing, garnished with fresh herbs and sliced chilies, adding both color and an extra kick. Portion size was fair for a starter, and the dish paired well with both...
