Tried this out by myself and then with the group. This is the same category as say Chipotle, Moe's, and the likes. I describe this place/that category as Tex-Mex. You have authentic Mexican food, Ameri-Mex (think of places like El Nepal and the likes), fast food Ameri-Mex (Taco Bell, Del Taco), and Tex-Mex or South Western Mex (Chipotle, Moe's, Surcheros). The place is nice looking (especially for a former Hardee's building), but would easily get backed up due to the setup. Tried the grilled sirloin steak bowl. The flavors are good all in all. I'm not much for the Tex-Mex stuff, but this one wasn't bad flavor wise. I got a special and with a drink the total was $16.61. So it's not cheap, but probably in line with some of your fast food places these days. You get to pick out what ingredients you want added and then the salsa's at the end. The amounts that they give will definitely fill you up. All in all, would I choose this place, considering I'm just not into these types of places...I'd have to be in the mood or with others and then it would be a pick. First time coming to surcheros in person. I was confused as to where to start to with the food order as the layout is a little odd of how you walk in. As I start my order I start with a side of queso, immediately the employee/manager states I get it at the front, so I ask okay what about a side of guacamole? He said I get that at the front too and then very rudely asks if I’ll be ordering anything from him.

Yes I still needed a burrito and a side of meat. But then before I ask for a side of sauce I question, well where exactly do I need to order a side of sauce? It appeared I was upsetting him if I ordered the wrong food item from him?

Anyways just a very odd thing for a manager to get upset with customers about. The menu is in front of our faces, there are not signs that we apparently need to order specific food items at different places….

I love to write great reviews for our local businesses but sadly, this won’t be one. I am an avid foodie. I have been so excited to order, so I Door Dashed! Love trying new places.

$62 on Door Dash, order arrived with missing meat, sauce, etc. I called in to let them know my order was not prepared correctly and the gentlemen who answered the phone sounded agitated by my call. He told me “The Sour Cream Is In The Corner (Of The Salad)”. I explained that it was not and listed the other missing items. No apology, just “Bring It Back & I’ll Remake It”

I suppose he had somewhere to be 10 minutes later because my husband did drive over, and he wasn’t present, they added steak onto the now luke warm food and added the sauces on the side which were ordered to be on the food (If I wanted to make a salad I would have). Needless to say, we had to microwave a few seconds to rewarm the meal.
