The long and short... The coffee here is excellent! I would recommend this to people the area.
That being said, there are a few things I would suggest to make the experience even better. For example, the beverage addatives (i.e. sugar, honey, cream, etc.) were on the countertop opposite of the seating area out of sight on a cocktail tray. It would be a nice gesture to bring the tray with your order to the table, or just stock the tables with some basics. Especially for newcomers who aren't familiar with this location. Also, with time it would be fun to add some more unique coffee mixes that make BREW unique from other established locations. (I love the idea of the coke+espresso+cream) For this place being so small and the parking being a pain for those who don't live/work in the area, I think this place needs a bit more to make it stand out from other coffee shops.
Overall, I was very happy with the service and quality of the coffee. They definitely know how to...
Read moreI don't drink coffee so can't really comment on that, but they serve nice loose-leaf tea, which can be pretty hard to find in these parts. I go there a lot, because the tea is usually good, it's in a nice location, and the patio is both cute and dog-friendly (they even keep a jar of dog treats next to the register!) However, there's been a few times when the tea tastes 'off' - it has a distinct coffee taste, which is not what you want from tea. This isn't common, but it completely ruins the tea when it does happen. The snacks/food options are generally pretty good as well. The service is usually good, too, but it's also a bit luck-of-the-draw - sometimes they'll bring your food & drink to you, other times they expect you to pick it up, it seems to depend who's working. Either way, you are meant to drop your empty dishes in a bin yourself. On the whole, the service is always very friendly, but the setup is a bit odd and...
Read moreI bought a large drip coffee. That coffee cost me 3.71 cents.. WHAT A RIP OFF. Average coffee, from very average help, clearly paying for your environment in this place because the service was "ok, that'll be 3.71, thanks heres your coffee." I haven't ever paid that much for a drip coffee, and I just looked at it and decided "fool me once." I'll pick a different place next time... there are tons of places all over town that have better coffee (in a bigger cup) for less money.. (For reference and entire pound bag of counter culture coffee beans is 11 bucks). Even if the environments kind of nice (although I got weird looks for speaking with a normal volume.. its not a library.. its a coffee shop) the chairs are...
