We are a Peruvian-American family and eat Peruvian food on a biweekly basis. My husband and I saw the sign for this restaurant on the freeway. We decided to try on a whim on a Saturday night. This place has outstanding Peruvian food. The service is also friendly and efficient. Most Peruvian restaurants I've tried do not make tigre de leche because it's difficult to get right. Lucky chicken absolutely nailed it. It was the perfect blend of spicy, creamy and citrus. The presentation was obviously done with care and craftsmanship. The chicken fried rice was a generous serving, hot and beautifully presented. Is this place Alpaca Chicken? No, but Alpaca is far from real Peruvian food. If you are trying to compare Alpaca to Lucky then you don't know true Peruvian food. These places can't even remotely compare. Lucky chicken is authentic, family run, and as close to Peru in NC as you will ever get.

Came here to enjoy some indoor dining as I heard they had great ceviche. got the mixed ceviche which was really tasty but mostly just white fish, so I'd probably get the cheaper option of just white fish ceviche next time we also got the paella which was alright, the spicey sauce made it much better but it needed some sourness in my opinion andsome of the fish was a bit overcooked tostones were big and delicious service was nice, they accepted my Groupon discount, and served us quickly I'd probably come back for ceviche. edit came back for more classic ceviche with tostones and yuca fries small comment, I've noticed this place is inconsistent. sometimes they serve the ceviche with classic white potato's, sometimes sweet, sometimes with a sauce and others without. still good edit.. updated to 5... yes inconsistent in size but Soo good on flavor ONLY FOR WHITE CEVICHE

My boyfriend and I decided to try Peruvian Cuisine so we came here. There was no one inside the restaurant from when we entered till we left. Service was decent. I ordered the most popular dish on the menu which was beef, rice and fries. My boyfriend ordered something like squid cerviche. Both plates looked colorful and vibrate. The food was delicious but there was just way too much onions in both our meals. However, my boyfriend got sick after a new minutes and rushed to the bathroom. I think more people would enter the restaurant if the sign light outside was switched on so that the restaurant can be seen. Also if those caponies at the front were take off. I don't think anyone wants to eat outside in this cold weather and also, the canopy was obstructing the entrance and the sign.

Do not go here. Owner is a liar. We ordered chicken brasa & ceviche for 2 people. Owner gave me old chicken. When I complain waitress would not change to fresh chicken. Then owner refused to change the chicken out or talk 2me. Then added food prep charge & service charge (tips) of $10 extra dollars.Waitress would not remove it and owner finally ltook off her self-made written tips off my bill. I asked to talk to owner face2face to complain about my experience. They refused to provide a manager in store. Refused to provide contact info.Waitres said ladywas her, but owner lied and said she she was not owner or manager.OWNER said it's illegal to not give tip & every restaurant adding tips to bil which another her lies. Then owner forced my husband to pay her tips by standing over him. Husband apologized to me for coming to Lucky Chicken. Owner & waitress started arguing with me & fussing at me even as I went out door to leave. Owner has brown blondish hair & racist. Waitress is fat with long black hair. Waitress had nerve to say I ate the food, what else can I do in this messed up situation. I have never had people beg me for tip. Restaurant is closed most days they say they open. Dont waste your time here.Your bill will look like you are at Wholefoods instead. Im sure after this horrible experience and with owner& waitress acting crazy, it will stay empty. Women working there have no class or common sense. Kooky owner buys glasses with another restaurant name on them. They do what they want and will serve you old food and talk ish to you while bullying for more money. Disrespectful to dark women, interracial couples, and refuse to accept im married to their Peru men. Go next door to Dames chicken &waffles instead, better yet Alpaca. My husband Peruvian & will not come back here due to their mental dysfunction & horrible actions. Health Dept needs to investigate why...

One of my hobbies is dine out specifically if it is Peruvian food... We, and I said We because I'm from PerĂș, have the best food in the world. I was in Raleigh doing some business and I Google restaurants and found "Lucky Chicken" I don't know if the chicken was a lucky one because I didn't ordered it, I'm more of the seafood so I order Pulpo al olivo (Octopus in Olive souce) it was delicious, then I had a Ceviche Aphrodisiac which is a seafood ceviche, many countries can claim they have the best ceviche but no one can overcome the Peruvian ceviche, and this place have a excellent one. I was not full yet so I ordered a Leche de Tigre 😋 I drunk it all... my wife had the pescado al ajillo and she was very pleased. We couldn't leave without trying a chicha morada and real passion fruit juice they were just perfect and to finish we had a cheesecake of maracuya. Unfortunately we had to leave looking forward to come back for the famous rotisserie chicken a very traditional Peruvian dish. The owner was very attentive and she was the one serving the food which to me was a very nice detail. The place may not call for a fancy eatery and doesn't justify the flavor of the food, however, this is one of the best Peruvian restaurants in North Carolina. I will recommend it 100% ... I forgot to take pictures... sorry. I will come back for the rotisserie chicken and more...

I would like to share my first and last experience with Lucky Chicken, more like unlucky if you asked me. When we got to the restaurant, we were"greeted" by a surly teenager who disposition was to be anywhere but here and told us to pick a seat. When we seated ourselves we waited almost 20 minutes before someone came to the table to take our order. The restaurant was empty besides us and another guest so I'm not sure what was the hold up but we waited patiently. When the waitress finally came to take our orders she was not friendly at all. We order papas rellenas and tamalitos for appetizers. They were Ok but not that great. Also another long wait time dan nobody came to check on us to see if we needed anything while we waited.Fast forward to food time. Maduros were quite tasty but the rest of the food was bland and not flavorful at all and overpriced for what was received. But the worst thing was the customer service or lack there of. Advice to owners : get employees in your business that actually want to be there and want your business to to thrive and not your kids. I will not be coming here again. There are way better Peruvian...
