08/08/2024 Update I visited here again and they have new dishes! The owner was here and she was great company, speaking with us and even gave us a cranberry drink. The food is just as good as it was. Consistent; the hot sour potato noodles was what my wife was craving. The noodles are very “Q”, the soup was drinkable- it wasn’t overly spicy and had a bit of tang very balanced!
Would try again! Would be even better if it was a cold day. I moved them to 5 stars because they added 2 more seats indoors!

I had this place on my list to visit because of Xi’an Famous foods in Ny! This place comes up when you search that. My wife and I came to eat dinner, hoping it’d be close to recreating our experience.
There is limited seating here, 2 total seats. I recommend takeout since everything is packaged for that already. We were lucky to sit, but also saw a stream of takeout orders getting picked up! Good sign-
It’s not your typical Chinese food place, and it is very specialized to the type of food they serve in Xi’an. They have a relatively small menu and we ordered 3 items. (They have combos, but we went rogue)
Xi’an wheat flour cold noodles (“Liang pi”), these were really good. The noodle texture had a good bouncy chew to them. They also include cucumbers and gluten as mix-ins. There were 3 sauce cups that were included; chili oil, a garlicky broth and a five spice flavor mixture (guessing on the last two). I mixed the entirety of the 3 of the sauces into the noodles and only wish it was a little more spicy and a bit more salted. But it was tasty, would get it again.
We had the braised chicken rice, the rice was rice. The chicken was very tender, almost complete shredded which is not my preference for the braised chicken but the mushroom and hint of spice was good alongside the rice. This dish had a lot of the braising liquid which you can put over rice but I don’t recommend drinking it like a soup because it is salty (though not overly salty)
The Glutinous Rice w/ Dates and Beans was a dessert dish! Texture was comparable to a gummy candy like softer peach rings. The sweetness comes from the Dates which are with pit so you know it’s not just some fried ones. Do be careful when biting into the dates because the pits are hard!
Overall we would come again. I rated atmosphere as a 3 because there isn’t really one. It looks like a to-go kitchen, you order in a screen and very self-service. Though when I did ask for spoons and my dishes were brought out the man at the counter was very courteous and friendly!
My overall rating is a 4; with the last star being indoor seating and maybe a few more dishes on the menu! Looking forward to their...
Read moreExcellent! Authentic! This place is legit Xi’an flavors that would be a welcome addition to any city.
The rougamou is authentic and executed well but I personally prefer the crispy shredded dough version better.
Everything else I ordered, xian flour cold noodle, braised chicken, spicy broth rice noodle, was amazing. The noodles in both dishes had nice tensile strength. They didn’t hold back on the spicy broth which also included a nice amount of Sichuan peppercorn numbness and other delicious things like thin bean curd and two quail eggs.
The braised chicken was basically a delicious broth filled with bone in chicken leg cut into chunks with very tender shiitake mushrooms. If you don’t do bones, then avoid this dish because there are occasional shards of bone with how they cut the chicken leg.
The xian flour cold noodle came with 3 separate sauce containers. I felt like there could have been more cucumber. Also they included ALOT of chili oil. I would suggest pouring on only a 1/3 of the container to start.
I’m very thankful Cary has this restaurant and I’ll definitely be ordering from here again and trying other things on menu as well as some of the items I’ve already...
Read moreWow!! I had never eaten authentic Chinese food before so I went a little crazy and ordered a bunch of different things. Overall the food was amazing. I ordered the braised chicken, beef & onion bowl, rougamo plus, beef bun and hot pepper beef soup. The rougamo and beef bun are both the same but one with beef and one with pork and holy crap these things were good!!! Kind of like pulled pork and brisket on a roll that’s somewhere between a bagel and pizza dough. Remarkably good. The braised chick was incredibly good. Tons of flavors going on there and a completely different flavor than anything I’ve ever eaten. Beef and onion was also very good but by design less flavors going on. The soup was a bridge too far for me haha. The flavor was amazing but it is a look and consistency that I would have to ease myself into. I’m also completely stuffed so there’s no room for it anyway. If your really big into trying cultural food get the soup though, the flavors really really good just very alien to me.
Overall this was an incredible meal. 10/10 and I never give 10/10 ratings. Exactly what I hoped for in so...
