Test preparation service. I am a returning to school professional and in the 30 years gap between my previous attempt I had gained a LOT of experience. To streamline my academic journey I looked into a lot of options and saw that CLEP and DSST exams were going to be my most accessible way to convert that life knowledge into credits. Understanding the test format and HONING the knowledge for the tests was what I needed. InstaCert's format was GREAT!!! The flash cards were helpful, and provide the supporting material for WHY and answer is right or wrong. It helped me to remember things I had previously learned, and in many cases served to tech me the material from ground zero! The mock-tests were a VERY close match to the real tests, so there were no surprises on test day. Using the service I was able to pass tests to knock 24 credit hours out for a fraction of the cost and time that enrolling in the courses would have required. As far as CLEP test prep sites go, InstantCert is a solid option overall because it packs some interesting utility in case the actual content is not enough on its own. I took CLEP Macro, Algebra, and Biology and found some polarizing results. The flash cards for College Algebra and Biology were cornerstones to my understanding of the content and I was able to score a 71s after 4 weeks with only a handful of videos for clarification and using some test prep software. The same cannot be said for Macroeconomics which suffers from explanations that are insufficient for learning the material and tackling the test questions. I used InstantCert as my primary study materials for 5 CLEPs and passed every one. The format is easy to use, the material is similar to the official study materials from College Board, and I felt that it did a good job preparing me for the tests. There are some typos ("you" for "your" was the most common), and it was pretty particular about formatting in the student produced answers for College Algebra, but overall, it's a good service and I would recommend it for anyone studying for CLEP tests.
